12 Inspiring Chandeliers

I remember many years ago when we purchased a new house and had to pick out all the lighting fixtures for it. I most enjoyed choosing the chandelier above the dining table. There were so many choices available but I had a specific design in mind and stuck to that vision, which made it easier to whittle down the options. I love chandeliers but don’t have one in my current home. Yes, we have a hanging light fixture in our dining room, but I wouldn’t really call it a chandelier. Now that I’m thinking of lighting options, I thought I’d browse Houzz for a little inspiration.

Here’s a pretty iron and blue glass chandelier. I love that it includes a rustic metal like iron paired with the delicate glass of blue beads. Glass blue jars on the dining table echo the light fixture’s blue tint.

Would you hang a chandie in your bedroom? I love this elegant one with a vintage vibe.

When most people think of chandeliers, they envision a fixture dripping with crystals. But a chandelier can adopt a variety of styles made with different materials, like this driftwood orb fixture.

I love the architectural details of this room. Warm, heavy woods with lots of detail paired with rustic brick walls and topped off with ornate chandeliers. Not only do opposites attract, but they look good together.

Dark blue walls make the beaded glass chandelier in this living room stand out. It’s a beautifully rich room and the chandie adds just the right touch of elegance.

I’ve often thought about hanging a small chandelier in my bathroom. Such a pretty room!

I don’t know what I love more about this room … the expansive windows or the over-sized antler chandelier. The rustic wood floors are inspiring as well.

And finally … the chicken coop that has it all! I guess if you can hang a chandelier in a chicken coop, you can put one in any room of your house!

What type of chandie do you like best?

An elegant one with lots of bling or something a bit more natural and rustic?

  1. Wow. I love them all. We are slowly replacing our cheap-ish builder grade light fixtures with more unique and sometimes antique fixtures. I love the process. My husband was a hard sell on the first one, but after he got it installed, he has commented on how it has changed the whole vibe of the house. (its in our entry way) So now he is sold. 🙂

  2. The bathroom chandelier and the farmhouse shed one are my two favorites, but I also love the rustic branch chandelier over the dining room table, too!! Hard to choose…thanks for posting this feature on chandeliers, Jennifer. I’m crazy about vintage lighting, especially chandies 🙂

  3. You know, my mom loved crystal chandeliers and had them throughout our house when I was growing up. I kind of rebelled against it when I became an adult. I think it was those memories or cleaning the crystals periodically that haunted me. So I liked simple things. But now, I really like them. And am kicking myself that I did not save all of theirs. I did save one. It has cobalt blue crystals. So at least I’m grateful that I was smart enough to hold onto that one.

  4. You’ve inspired me. Now I want to replace the ugly ceiling light over my bed with a chandelier! Love the idea of having one in the chicken coop. Such fancy little chickens!

  5. I love them all, but especially the one in the chicken coop! Now I really want to have some chickens!

  6. Always, always so gorgeous. I love love the dining areas and bathroom. Although I’m not sure I’d be putting on chandeliers in my house, I appreciate these grand beauties.

  7. Love these lighting styles! A very nice collection chandelier. These chandeliers have become my favorite. I wish to add these lights in my home. Thanks for sharing.
