11 Blogger Kitchens to Enjoy

Kitchens have evolved dramatically over the years, and large part of that is due to technological advancements like the creation of the stove and oven. Back in Colonial America, the kitchen was often a separate building behind the house. It wasn’t until the end of the 19th century when using gas for cooking became more commonplace in homes. You wouldn’t find built-in cabinetry, thus the need for hutches and Hoosier cabinets. As furniture and technology advanced, kitchens became more efficient. Today, kitchen aesthetics are just as important as functionality. I’m happy to share 13 blogger kitchens for you to enjoy!

Farmhouse Kitchen

I’ll start with my farmhouse kitchen, which has some modern amenities, but not all. Our kitchen lacks a dishwasher but I’m not a fan of loading and unloading the dishwasher anyway. Washing dishes by hand gives me time to think and unwind, so it’s a little therapeutic. But truth be told, hubby does the dishes more than I do.

13 Blogger Kitchens. Some with Painted Cabinets, some without.

Linda from It All Started with Paint has a beautiful kitchen with painted cabinets. I love her choice of back splash tile, and that window above the kitchen sink looks out into her family room. It gives the chef the ability to stay connected with friends or family in the other room.

Coastal Kitchen

A built-in cabinet offers storage and beauty in Danielle’s kitchen from Finding Silver Pennies. Danielle recently gave her coastal kitchen a lovely shade of gray on the walls.

Renovated Kitchen

I’m swooning over this gorgeous new home kitchen by Melissa at the Polished Habitat. I love that her kitchen island is a different color. When building her home, she made sure to include plenty of upgrades in her kitchen. Wise decision … it looks great.

Farmhouse Style Kitchen

You know I’m a fan of anything farmhouse style so I really enjoyed seeing Kristi’s DIY kitchen renovation at Chatfield Court. From the rustic shelf to the apron sink, it’s all so charming!

White Cottage Kitchen

Are you noticing a pattern?  Yes, a lot of white kitchens. The touches of red in Kim’s transformed kitchen at Exquisitely Unremarkable is … well, remarkable. It’s so bright and fresh.

Traditional Style Kitchen with Wood Cabinets

For those of you who enjoy kitchens with stained wood cabinets, you’ll love this traditional style kitchen by Jess at Bright Green Door. I love that some of the cabinets have glass-front doors.

Traditional White Kitchen

Jann at Newton Custom Interiors turned to Pinterest for inspiration before giving her charming kitchen a makeover. She’s a big fan of white cabinets, white counters, white appliances, and wood floors. A girl after my own heart!  Jann adds subtle touches of color with her painted stools, patterned roman shade, and green accents on the counter.

Southern Farmhouse Kitchen

I’m a huge fan of Suzy’s kitchen at Worthing Court. It’s new, but it has beautiful farmhouse touches like the lighting and vent hood.

Kitchen Cabinets Painted with Milk Paint

Jill at Sew a Fine Seam painted her mother’s kitchen cabinets with white milk paint. And did you notice the fireplace on the opposite wall?  The warm wood floors set the stage for the entire room and it’s beautiful.

Fixer Upper Inspired Kitchen

A recent kitchen reveal from Sarah at All Things with Purpose features the decorating style of Joanna Gaines from the popular Fixer Upper show on HGTV.  I’m seeing more and more of the farmhouse style that Joanna is making popular.

I hope you enjoyed this tour of 11 blogger kitchens.  I’m always amazed by the talent of these amazing women!

  1. This is a great roundup of kitchens, Jennifer. And interesting tidbits about the kitchens of old days too. I always wondered why kitchens used to be in a separate building until I read that it was to prevent a fire from spreading to the rest of the house, if one ever started in the kitchen. Thank you so much for including mine!

  2. Jennifer, there are so many pretty kitchens here today!! I could find fabulous inspiration in every single one! Thanks so much for including mine. I am truly flattered! 🙂
