Best of 2016: Reader Favorites

Another year of decorating, entertaining, and cooking has come and gone. It’s always fun to look back on the year and see how much was accomplished. I’m joining my blogging friends to share our top ten projects, resulting in the best of 2016! I’d like to give a shout-out to Cami at Tidbits for organizing today’s event. Be sure to visit my blog friends listed at the end of this post to see all the best that 2016 had to offer in the blogging world. But first, here’s my list of top 10 projects.

My Christmas Home Tour is my #1 post from 2016. This was a little surprising to me since I shared it just a little more than a month ago. Holiday tours are always a hit with readers though.

Second on the Top 10 list is spring decorating in my dining room. I brought in natural elements to give it a fresh look.

Another Christmas project made this year’s Best of 2016 list. My little paper house Christmas village was popular with readers. I included a free template so you can make your own houses. Who says they have to be decorated for Christmas?  You can make these fun little houses any time of the year.

Another free printable made this year’s popularity list, only this time it’s all about spring. “In One Small Garden” is available for you to download and print. What’s even better is that I created three designs with the same quote, so pick the one you like best!

Number five on the Best of 2016 list is another Christmas post; my Snowy Village mantel. This was such a fun project. I felt like a little girl setting up her doll house!

Next up on the list at number six is my Spring Home Tour. I featured farmhouse elements and cheery spring colors.

In addition to decorating, I love making things by hand … like scented candles. The first time I made them I was so nervous, but then I found out how easy they are to make and love them. Apparently my readers love them too because this post made number seven on the Best of 2016 list.

Ideas for brightening spaces came in at number eight. I love light and airy rooms and shared some of my tips for creating brighter living spaces.

I love flowers and have created numerous bouquets to share on my blog with you. A collection of farmhouse flowers is number nine on my Top Ten list for 2016.  You’ll see more flowers in 2017 as I have more flower-arranging tips to share with you.

And finally … my farmhouse kitchen dressed for spring rounds out the Best of 2016 at number ten. My kitchen posts always seem to be favorites with my blog readers. Can I tell you a secret?  The first time I shared my kitchen here at Town and Country Living I was sooooo nervous!  It’s not an updated, modern kitchen and I was so worried people would hate it.  It’s true. I kept checking my blog all day to read the comments. It was such a relief to find that people actually liked my unsophisticated farmhouse kitchen.

I want to thank all my readers from the bottom of my heart for visiting my blog! Without you, what would be the point of blogging? I read all of your comments and take them all to heart. I look forward to continuing this journey in 2017 and hope you’ll join me as I share projects and decorating ideas. And if you ever want to read about something in particular, just let me know!

And now … here are some of my blog friends and their Top Ten posts of 2016. So much creativity and knowledge to enjoy!

    Happy New Years.

  2. Jennifer, I always like to see what you have been doing. I had forgotten how much I loved your spring kitchen.

  3. Love your style! The piece that stuck out to me was the “milk & cream” sign with the cow. And crazy enough, I went out to lunch and shopping today and I saw it in a store! It really adds so much, and I love its colors.
