Butterfly Gardens and a Fairytale Cottage: Friday Finds

Who can resist butterfly gardens and fairytale cottages? I’m featuring both, along with a few other treasures, on today’s Friday Finds post. I’m ready for spring, but unfortunately the groundhog saw his shadow. So for now, I’ll just have to dream about warmer days spent by my garden pond. And instead of going outside to listen to the birds sing, I’ll have to settle for watching the cardinals at the feeder through the window.

First on today’s list is a free ebook that shares how to create a butterfly garden. It’s offered through my other blog, Pond and Garden, where you’ll find gardening ideas and inspiration.

If you watch Home Town on HGTV, you’re probably big fans of Erin and Ben Napier. See their Mississippi dream house. It’s a beauty!

I love custom molding and trim in a house, which is part of the reason why I’m drawn to older homes. I told hubby I want to add some molding in the dining room and the very next day, I stumbled across an article on Chris Loves Julia that features 19 ways to add molding.

Have you ever dreamt of stepping inside a fairytale cottage? Well, today’s your lucky day. Take a virtual tour of this utterly charming fairytale cottage in England. So cute!!

Who’s watching the Super Bowl? I’ll be at my son’s house and was looking for a snack to take with me. I found some great snack recipes at Real Simple. The mini crab cakes look pretty yummy, but there are plenty of other options to try.

The weekend is almost here – do something to pamper yourself. Even if it’s something as simple as taking a bubble bath!

  1. “SHROPSHIRE.” What an interesting name! And what a beautifully interesting cottage! Well done. Thanks for sharing all the goodies today.
Hang in there, warmer weather will surely come your way. (Oh my, it’s going down to 44 degrees tonight in N. Central FL but oops 70 on Saturday.) “Y’all come on down, ya hear?” Tee hee

  2. I think I remember you mentioning that you are vegetarian…have you tried Gardein crab cakes? To me they are even better than the real thing, but to be fair I do not like most seafood. Sold in the freezer section of many stores! You could do a tray of both kinds.
