DIY Pink Champagne Christmas Ornaments

Christmas is seven weeks away and that means it's time to ramp up crafts and projects for the holiday. I was searching for specific-looking ornaments at the store and couldn't find what I wanted, so I decided to make my own DIY Pink Champagne Christmas Ornaments. (This post contains affiliate links.)   I was looking for glittery, pink champagne Christmas ornaments that would pair well with my existing mercury glass ornaments. Since I … [Read more...]

Vintage Christmas Flea Market Finds

Is it too early to talk about Christmas? This year I'm planning a few weeks early because my home is on a virtual holiday tour the first week in December and I want to be well prepared. I have a decorating theme in my head and was on the hunt for vintage Christmas decorations at our monthly local flea market. Surprisingly, not a lot of vendors had Christmas decor out, so I'll have to go back for the November market. But I did manage to find a few … [Read more...]

The Trimming of the Tree

When most people talk about trimming their Christmas tree, they mean festooning it with ornaments and lights. But when we trimmed our tree, we actually cut off about half its branches. And the point of doing that was to create space for plenty of ornaments. For over a decade, we've had a fake tree to avoid dealing with dried, fallen needles on the floor. But this year I remembered a Christmas tree from 2011 that inspired me to go "au … [Read more...]

Christmas in the Family Room

As we get closer to Christmas, I've been showing more details of each room that's been decorated. Today I'm sharing the family room. I'm saving the Christmas tree in the living room for last, although I showed one pic of it in my Holiday Home Tour post. Anywho ... on to the family room. Sticking with my "Keep It Simple Stupid" theme this year, I didn't get too fussy with the decorating in here. In fact, I used a couple kitties to decorate. My … [Read more...]

My Holiday Home Tour

Normally I would wait until closer to Christmas to reveal all of the house decked out for the holidays, but I wanted to get everything ready for Jennifer Rizzo's Holiday Home tour party on Monday, December 10th. This post is an overview of my holiday decor, with more detailed photos coming soon. Needless to say, I've been busy scurrying around pulling everything together. Without further adieu, here's a sneak peek of Christmas 2012 at Town and … [Read more...]

Keeping It Simple at Christmas

This year I've vowed to keep it simple for Christmas. Our tree is smaller, I'm only using about half of my decorations, I don't know if I'm even putting out my Santa collection. Instead, I'm focusing on greenery, vintage ornaments, and the philosophy that less is more. Using ordinary items around the house, an ironstone dish becomes a vessel for vintage baubles. To add a little Christmas greenery, I used Spanish moss instead of evergreens. Just … [Read more...]

Pretty Pink Baubles for Stephanie

Last night was a Holiday Open House at Carter's Cottage and while I was shopping, I saw these beautiful pink Christmas ornaments that immediately made me think of my eldest daughter, Stephanie. Her favorite color is pink and lately I've been feeling blue about her because she's suffering from a wicked sprained ankle. So I had to take these pretty pink baubles home with me as a gift for her. Stephanie loves Christmas so combine the holiday with … [Read more...]
