Painted Floors, Paneling, and Pretty Homes: Friday Finds

April is coming to a close already! I need the months to start slowing down now so that warmer days and sunshine can be thoroughly enjoyed. We just had our pond cleaned out and the water and rocks look so clean and pretty. I’ll snap some pictures when the aquatic plants grow a little bigger. Although, maybe it’s a good idea to get photos now so you can see what it looks like in early spring and then compare it to summer when it’s a full-blown oasis!

Let’s get started with this week’s finds, which include two beautiful home tours and more.

Hello Cameron Ruppert! I’m starting off today’s Friday Finds with this amazing home tour that’s filled with color, class, and a bit of whimsy. Explore every detail of this pretty blue Victorian and you won’t just fall in love – you’ll be spellbound!

This past week my friend and I were discussing how hard it is to clean the house in warm weather because we’re spending most of our free time outside in the garden. Lucky me, I stumbled across this handy, monthly cleaning checklist from Better Homes & Gardens. I think I’ll hang it somewhere so hubby can help with the list.

My friend Kristi shares some really pretty bathroom paneling ideas on her blog, Making It in the Mountains. This gives me ideas for our downstairs bathroom that we’re currently remodeling.

This Nantucket cottage reminds me why I love painted floors so much. Paint is a great remedy for bringing beat-up planked floors back to life without spending a small fortune.

Weekends are for breakfast and I’m ready to whip up a batch of these lemon ricotta pancakes with blueberry syrup! These look so good I’d make them for lunch and dinner, too.

Finally, don’t forget to enter to win a copy of the Lived-In Style book that I featured earlier this week. If you don’t want to enter the giveaway, you can purchase the book on Amazon.

  1. While this home had a lot of color and whimsey, I found it overwhelming. I am a pattern person, but would like my rooms a little more peaceful. Thanks for sharing.

  2. That house is stunning! Love the wallpaper, fabric, and the pattern mixing is unbelievable. I would never feel comfortable living with that much going on, truly each room was a masterpiece! While I appreciate it in photos, not so much in my real life. Excellent job showcasing some wonderful homes!

  3. The first tour was beautiful but, the best one was the Nantucket Cottage. The cottage was so cozy and I loved it. Thanks for the cleaning list it will be used.

  4. Hmm, Jennifer, apparently you have been reading my mind. I commented recently about doing over my enclosed front porch with blue and white black out curtains and pink boho rug. (with white wicker)I loved it so much, I have the same curtains whole house wide, and now matching up bedding, plus it all seems to go well with items I already have.
It is really pretty. To be honest, I am in a small home, on a tight budget, and have to be real about climate change, or just wanting to cut my energy costs with black out curtains for year round heat and cold control.
Since my house is old, small, and has some odd features, this is working for me.
The simple blue and white theme lets me add in lots of color with just a few items every season. My days of major makeovers are done, lol.

  5. Beautiful!
I may be crazy but I never saw the picture of the beautiful blue room originally shown?
I love the rugs and the checked chair!
