Spotlight on Vibrant Spring Table Settings: Welcome the Season

Although I don’t do as much entertaining as I used to, I still enjoy a pretty tablescape. Easter is just under three weeks away but there’s still time to plan your spring table settings. Today’s collection provides a variety of ideas to add some color and romance to your Easter gathering.

Of all the holidays, I feel like Easter is the best time to use color and flowers abundantly. A traditional spring table setting displays pastel-dyed eggs and a mix of flowers like tulips, lilacs, grape hyacinths, and more. Add a few candles for increased ambiance. And if you have colored glassware, now’s the time to use it.

When it comes to spring table settings, use flowers from your garden if they’re in bloom. Since Easter comes a little early this year, your choices might be limited. Lilacs are a superb option if available because not only do they keep their flowers for a long time, but the fragrance is heavenly.

Sometimes simplicity is just as beautiful (if not more so) than going all out with decorations. White dishes create the base for silverware placed atop a white napkin and cinched a bit with a piece of twine. A small sprig of white blossoms completes the look.

Equally beautiful is a monochromatic color scheme. Lavender is a perfect choice for spring table settings since yellow and purple are typically the colors associated with Easter.

Here’s another monochromatic color scheme using a rosy hue. Note how the napkins are wrapped around the plate for a different look.

Not sure what to do with your table and don’t want to spend a lot of time on it? Use the standard napkin and egg trick! Take a napkin rolled up lengthwise, and wrap it around an egg to create a rabbit’s head with bunny ears. Tie in place with a piece of twine or ribbon. You could also use plastic eggs and put candy or trinkets inside for your guests. The kids will love this!

I love the vintage rabbit napkin rings in this next Easter table. You can get them on Etsy or at Walmart. A wooden bunny figure, colored eggs, colored glassware, and a beautiful centerpiece create quite the elegant setting.

If you’re lucky to live where it’s warm enough to dine outside, let the cherry blossoms or magnolia blooms take center stage by placing your table near their beauty.

This Easter I’ll be in Washington D.C. to see the cherry blossoms and I can’t wait. When I booked the trip I didn’t even realize we’d be there Easter Sunday. I already scheduled our brunch reservation at Chloe’s. Walking the beautiful neighborhoods will provide plenty of photo ops. I’m ready to pack my bags!
