Let’s escape Old Man Winter and head to the best little lakeside cottage by Emily Griffin Design that resides on Lake Crowe in Ontario. This charming retreat will make you want to book a vacation to a cute little seaside rental.
The entry introduces the casual style of the home with a trio of straw hats mounted on the wall near a Scandinavian painted bench.
The kitchen features the perfect pairing of pale blue and white for a lakeside cottage. This space was totally gutted and redesigned to create a cozier, country feel. A linen Roman shade lends softness at the window against the cool subway tile.
I think the dining room and kitchen is my favorite area of this pretty retreat. The pale blue chairs are the perfect addition around the large wood dining table. Open shelves provide an opportunity to display colorful mugs and dishes.
The same pale blue appears on the trim in the airy sun room. Windows are left open to enjoy the lakeside breezes on a summer day (anyone else besides me wishing it was summer right now?). The jute rug is perfect for wear and tear.
The living room is equally pretty dressed in blue and white, with a stone fireplace to provide warmth on cooler evenings.
The master bedroom in the lakeside cottage has a calming effect with its soft neutrals surrounding the vintage wooden bed.
The second bedroom feels like camp with its large, horizontal wood paneling and round porthole style mirrors. Orange comforters pick up the vibrant color in the throw rug.
The bathroom enjoys a herringbone pattern on the floor with a rustic style vanity.
But the star of the bathroom is the large soaker tub with a handy shelf for toiletries. Did you see the pom-pom fringe on the window shade? So sweet!
