Charming Home Tour ~ Worthing Court

Have you met Suzy from the Worthing Court blog? She moved into a new-to-her house about a year ago and I’m truly amazed at all she’s accomplished in her home already! She took the opportunity of moving to change her color scheme and the result is so pretty! But don’t take my word for it, take a step inside her charming home …

Painted Front Door on Fall PorchA new door with pretty paint graces the porch at Suzy’s southern home. I love that Suzy chose a door with a a large mullioned window. Pumpkins perched on black urns flank the front entrance just in time for fall.

Foyer at Worthing CourtIn the foyer, a dresser echoes the color of the front door. A beautiful staircase with pretty details rises to the second floor. My favorite stair treatment is a runner with part of the wood exposed on the sides, just like you see here.

Family Room Painted FireplaceA gorgeous painted fireplace framed by French doors provides the wow factor in Suzy’s family room. Note how the pattern of the rug is similar, yet different, to the pattern of the wing chair. I love that Suzy kept the mantel simple.

White Traditional KitchenYou know I’m a fan of white kitchens and when I saw Suzy’s, I was immediately smitten!  I think Suzy has proven that a white kitchen can be warm and inviting, as opposed to stark and cold (which is the complaint you often hear about white kitchens). She’s chosen the perfect wall color to add warmth, and the wood floors help to keep the space feeling cozy. Beautiful subway tile for a back splash and granite counters provide additional interest. What’s not to love?

Traditional Style Breakfast NookUpholstered chairs lend softness to a farm table in the breakfast nook. Subtle touches of green add interesting color in the neutral dining space while a bay window lets in plenty of natural light.

Functional Mud RoomJust off the breakfast nook is a handy mudroom to catch umbrellas, boots, and bags.

Laundry RoomSuzy’s bright and airy laundry room is a cheery spot for washing clothes. When you have a pretty room like this, mundane chores don’t seem so bad.

Bathroom NookA cozy nook in the master bathroom becomes a charming and functional vanity. I love the blues and pinks in this space.  It’s feminine and sophisticated all at once.

Southern Home Screened PorchHow fabulous is Suzy’s screened porch?  Pretty darn fabulous, if you ask me! I would spend every waking hour out here … but then I’d be torn because I’d want to go bake something in Suzy’s beautiful kitchen.  Note how earthy wood tones are repeated out here with the shutters, rattan chairs, and baskets hanging on the posts. The painted dresser provides handy storage so you don’t have to keep running inside the house.

Exterior of Gracious Southern HomeIsn’t Suzy’s home beautiful? She had to clear out a lot of brush to see the home from the street. It has the perfect southern porch, too!  Be sure to visit Suzy at Worthing Court so you can follow along as she continues to transform her beautiful house into a charming home!
