Craftsman House with Fresh Country Style

The first home I purchased was a craftsman house. I loved all the architectural details of that small charmer. It was a perfect starter home. Today’s tour features an updated craftsman house by Kelly and Co. Design that’s quite larger than my first humble home.

A simple farmhouse bench greets you when entering the home, hinting at the warmth and comfort in rooms to come.

A dark-paneled wall surrounds the fireplace and gives the living room depth and a bit of drama. Light-colored furniture balances the dark wall while a pretty red rug underfoot adds playful color.

The kitchen in the craftsman house enjoys plentiful natural light streaming in through ample windows. Apple green subway tiles add an unexpected pop of color. Green apples on the kitchen table echo the color.

A beautiful wood table takes center stage in the dining room. Light brown wallpaper pairs with white painted trim while flowering stems from the yard create an organic centerpiece.

Farmhouse simplicity infuses one of the bedrooms in the craftsman house.

Another bedroom wears a casual bed with soft bedding and subdued patterns.

Note the pretty glass knob on the door leading to the updated bathroom.

Another bathroom enjoys a beautiful free-standing tub under a wall of windows. With the trees outside, you’d feel like you’re bathing in the woods. I like the tile flooring in this room and would love to add it to my downstairs bathroom.

Outside you’ll find the perfect spot for dining al fresco. Such beautiful scenery to gaze upon while eating!

The craftsman house has plenty of style on the outside, too. See more of today’s featured home by Kelly and Co. Design.

  1. Great home! I couldn’t help but notice the hostas in the last picture of the exterior of the house. I love hostas but we were never able to have them way down here in the deep South of Florida. Imagine my delight when I found heat tolerant hostas at the garden shop this summer!!!! Yay!

  2. The entry way is my style. Both bedroom are sooo inviting, geared for a soothing sleep in day. There is no need to tamper with almost perfect. Thanks.

  3. The view from the deck (2nd to last photo) is breathtakingly beautiful!
The next photo with the gorgeous window boxes is also superb!
    Thanks, Jennifer!

  4. Designed so well, but with restraint in a way that makes it a real home and not just a showpiece. Yes to the glass door knob…we replaced all the doorknobs in our house with glass knobs as well as the cabinet pulls in the kitchen and master bath also glass. It seems like home jewelry to me.
