Red is an energetic color that represents strength and passion.

It can be a tricky color to use in your home, but when done right it’s beautiful.

If you’re not afraid of decorating with red, then you’re going to love these photos from Houzz.

I’ve always loved red walls in a dining room, maybe because one of my best childhood friends lived in a home with a red dining room. This craftsman style dining room looks fresh and inspiring in red and white.

How about this fun, eclectic room with its happy red walls?

I don’t have the courage to do this in my home, but I love the look of this living room.

You can always opt to use red for a trim color, too.

So what do you think? Are you brave enough to do some bold decorating with red?

Or would you go for some of the subtler touches of the color in your home?

  1. I liked the traditional bedroom with the fireplace and the kitchen after it was cozy…they made red not so bright. 🙂

  2. Hi Jennifer,
I love the rustic white living room the best with a touch of red in the grain sacks. The traditional bedroom with the fireplace is gorgeous too. I am thinking of doing red and white for Christmas this year! Have a great rest of the week.

  3. I like the second picture, the craftsman style dinning room! So striking!
Red is my favorite color too, but I don’t have any red in my home…at the moment.

    Thanks for sharing, Jennifer.

  4. I like the white livingroom with the red stripe grain sacks and the bedroom right after it. I love red but it’s just too intense for me on the walls.

  5. Red is a tricky color. I read once that every room needs a little touch of it. Then it is like artichokes up to ones taste sort of a thing. BUT if done right …. It can be like that (PERFECT)

  6. I love them, they’re all very well put on the red, otherwise it could look loud! I love the first kitchen although not with black but with an off-white. I love the bedrooms too. Thanks, it was fun to see these images.

  7. I like the craftsman dining room and traditional bedroom and the last rustic house wears red in a very different way. I think the shining red door will stick in my mind for awhile; so stunning.
