A little green and white pair together this year to set the scene for a farmhouse holiday dinner.
I think it was two Januarys ago when I first started talking about finding a new farmhouse dining table. I shared examples of farm tables I’d seen, and then a year later I swapped my dining and living rooms and created a new sitting room, which you can see in my recent fall home tour….
Ever since I’ve had my own homes, I like to brighten up the interiors with whites and cool blues. During spring and summer months, I’ll bring in more color with flowers and accents. Our dining room only has one window in it, but I’ve managed to bounce the light around with pale walls and white…
In our busy world, it’s easy to grab your dinner and have a seat on the couch to dine while watching the evening news (or in my case, taped episodes of Judge Judy). But maybe the world would be a better place if we consistently enjoyed a small space dining area where meals are intimate…
I think we’ve all heard that “breakfast is the most important meal of the day.” I know I heard it in grade school or whenever starting a diet. Although I’m not a big breakfast eater, I do love the thought of cozy breakfast nooks to start the day. It should be a cheery place to…
Next week is Thanksgiving and I’ve been trying to get the majority of my Christmas decorating done before then. I’ve never finished decorating for the holidays this early, but this year I want to spend as much time as possible with my family during the holiday season. I’m also keeping my decorating simpler and feel…
Many of you know that I grew up in Geneva, Illinois, due west of Chicago on the outskirts of the suburbs. The town has a Swedish history and features Good Templar Park where members of the International Organization of Good Templars would come to celebrate Midsummer, which is Swedish Day, or “Svenskarnas Dag” in Sweden….
Your table and dining room are stunning! I love the clean, crisp simplicity of it all. Thank you for sharing it!

Luv the vintage ornaments.
Merry Christmas.

Love it all.
I love the simplicity of it all Jennifer. No fuss and clutter, just beautiful useful pieces and a lovely touch with the white glasses like your grans. Don’t you love it when you find thrifty finds that remind you of a time in your own childhood.
Very fresh looking, Jennifer! Love the simplicity of your table setting. The book page runner is very creative. We are going to our daughter’s for Christmas day also. I still have no idea what we are having Christmas Eve, but it will just be myself, hubby and our son so I’ll keep it easy and simple.
Jennifer, I LOVE your touches of Christmas in your dining room. I need to work on mine today. I just may borrow a few of your ideas. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, Gail
It is all so pretty, I just love the vintage ornaments. Vintage ornaments come in the best colors.

Love the green and white. I have lots of red this year so this gave me the idea to do some white with all of it on the table. I have lots of white so no excuse to do the same old boring thing I always do.

SO pretty! Love the book page runner idea. I’m impressed, you’re ready for Saturday already!
Simple and festive, Jennifer. I love it!
So soft and pretty. I love the simple decor and what a great idea to decorate each plate with a couple of bulbs. The green looks perfect against the neutrals.
It’s all so very pretty…love all of vintage ornaments that you have used.
Blessings,
Linda
