Last weekend officially launched the holiday season for me when I took my granddaughter Zoe for a Christmas weekend in Chicago. We stayed in a one-bedroom apartment I found on Airbnb and spent most of our time shopping while taking in a few sights. Our girls weekend was something I’d been promising her for…
Garden centers across the country are stocked and ready to go for the holiday season. You might find you’re bombarded by tree and wreath ads from your local nursery. My favorite local greenhouse features the most amazing poinsettias that I like to purchase for inside my home. And of course, when it comes to the…
Fall brings two important things into my life; gorgeous colors and football. I don’t know why football can’t last as long as baseball season. And I don’t know why the beautiful color of fall leaves has to mean barren trees are right around the corner. Well, okay … I do know why trees become dormant…
After seeing today’s renovated lake cottage located in northern Georgia and photographed by Gridley + Graves, I’m now convinced I need to visit that region for a vacation. I’ve been to Savannah, Tybee Island, and Atlanta, but never stayed in the Appalachian area of the state. If I could find a rental cottage like this…

Love it all.
I love the simplicity of it all Jennifer. No fuss and clutter, just beautiful useful pieces and a lovely touch with the white glasses like your grans. Don’t you love it when you find thrifty finds that remind you of a time in your own childhood.
Very fresh looking, Jennifer! Love the simplicity of your table setting. The book page runner is very creative. We are going to our daughter’s for Christmas day also. I still have no idea what we are having Christmas Eve, but it will just be myself, hubby and our son so I’ll keep it easy and simple.
Jennifer, I LOVE your touches of Christmas in your dining room. I need to work on mine today. I just may borrow a few of your ideas. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, Gail
It is all so pretty, I just love the vintage ornaments. Vintage ornaments come in the best colors.

Love the green and white. I have lots of red this year so this gave me the idea to do some white with all of it on the table. I have lots of white so no excuse to do the same old boring thing I always do.

SO pretty! Love the book page runner idea. I’m impressed, you’re ready for Saturday already!
Simple and festive, Jennifer. I love it!
So soft and pretty. I love the simple decor and what a great idea to decorate each plate with a couple of bulbs. The green looks perfect against the neutrals.
It’s all so very pretty…love all of vintage ornaments that you have used.
Blessings,
Linda
