Something about the fall season brings out the need for warm and cozy texture in the home. Pillows and throws are a simple solution, but what about the architectural appeal of a stone wall? In my childhood home there was a large stone wall fireplace in the center of the room, running up to the…
You’ve probably heard the old adage, “The kitchen is the heart of the home,” but I don’t think this necessarily applies to everyone. We all have our “heart of the home” … that thing or elements that makes our home a cozy refuge from the world. This week I’m joining a few blogging buddies as…
Happy Wallpaper Week! Did you know such a thing existed? This week on the blog I’ll feature beautiful rooms with wallpaper. I’m starting off with a gorgeous craftsman dining room by Prospect Refuge Studio. Photo by Prospect Refuge Studio My first house had rich wood trim like this – and I did wallpaper the…
When I talk about a low profile Christmas table setting, I’m primarily talking about the height of what’s on the center of the table. Today I’m joining the Styled + Set group to bring you holiday entertaining ideas. If you’re following today’s loop of entertaining posts, Anita at Cedar Hill Farmhouse is the blogger…
Lately I feel like every Sunday I say how much I love today’s home tour. Today is no different. I’m in love with the charming Maryland farmhouse that we’re going to tour. The interior decor is giving me ideas for my own home. Every tour I hope that you too, walk away with ideas and…
You may remember my post about stenciling the glass china cabinet doors. Fortunately or unfortunately, a cat hurled itself at the glass door (obviously something freaked him out) and the glass on one of the doors broke. Now mind you, I didn’t see this happen but I heard a crash in the dining room and…

Love it all.
I love the simplicity of it all Jennifer. No fuss and clutter, just beautiful useful pieces and a lovely touch with the white glasses like your grans. Don’t you love it when you find thrifty finds that remind you of a time in your own childhood.
Very fresh looking, Jennifer! Love the simplicity of your table setting. The book page runner is very creative. We are going to our daughter’s for Christmas day also. I still have no idea what we are having Christmas Eve, but it will just be myself, hubby and our son so I’ll keep it easy and simple.
Jennifer, I LOVE your touches of Christmas in your dining room. I need to work on mine today. I just may borrow a few of your ideas. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, Gail

Love the green and white. I have lots of red this year so this gave me the idea to do some white with all of it on the table. I have lots of white so no excuse to do the same old boring thing I always do.

So soft and pretty. I love the simple decor and what a great idea to decorate each plate with a couple of bulbs. The green looks perfect against the neutrals.
