A little green and white pair together this year to set the scene for a farmhouse holiday dinner.
One of my dreams is to take my family to spend Christmas in Galena, Illinois for the Christmas holiday. It’s a quaint, historic tourist spot just 2 hours away and probably has more Bed and Breakfast homes than any other place in the U.S.  It’s popular for antiques shopping and was home to Ulysses S. Grant. I’ve…
Now that it’s getting colder outside, it might be less enjoyable to have your morning coffee out on the porch or patio. Fall is a great time to turn your decorating eye toward your interiors and see what you might want to improve. Today I’m featuring nine cute breakfast nooks to help inspire you on…
Welcome to another edition of Farmhouse Friday where a group of farmhouse bloggers gather together to celebrate our favorite decorating style! Â This month we’re showcasing how to display or decorate with dishes. Farmhouse style is both functional and pretty. Displayed pieces around the home serve a purpose, whether it’s a basket holding textiles or an…
One of my favorite schoolgirl memories of Christmas was studying how other countries celebrate Christmas. I envisioned being a Danish child putting my wooden shoes by the fireplace instead of hanging stockings. Or dreaming of one day having a collection of colorful German nutcrackers. Participating in a Mexican Posada to mimic Mary and Joseph’s journey…
Plaid patterns and fabric remind me of rich woolens from Pendleton Woolen Mills. Back in the day, lucky was the lady who owned a pair of classic wool plaid pants or blazer from the famed Oregon company. Plaid is a great pattern to introduce into your home. It looks great with solids and other patterns….
One thing I feel like I’m not very good at is choosing furniture. I tend to work with what I have or what I find at a flea market or resale shop. I force things to work together (sometimes awkwardly so). But lately I’ve wanted to create a more cohesive look, even if it means I…

Love it all.
I love the simplicity of it all Jennifer. No fuss and clutter, just beautiful useful pieces and a lovely touch with the white glasses like your grans. Don’t you love it when you find thrifty finds that remind you of a time in your own childhood.
Very fresh looking, Jennifer! Love the simplicity of your table setting. The book page runner is very creative. We are going to our daughter’s for Christmas day also. I still have no idea what we are having Christmas Eve, but it will just be myself, hubby and our son so I’ll keep it easy and simple.
Jennifer, I LOVE your touches of Christmas in your dining room. I need to work on mine today. I just may borrow a few of your ideas. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, Gail

Love the green and white. I have lots of red this year so this gave me the idea to do some white with all of it on the table. I have lots of white so no excuse to do the same old boring thing I always do.

SO pretty! Love the book page runner idea. I’m impressed, you’re ready for Saturday already!
Simple and festive, Jennifer. I love it!
So soft and pretty. I love the simple decor and what a great idea to decorate each plate with a couple of bulbs. The green looks perfect against the neutrals.
It’s all so very pretty…love all of vintage ornaments that you have used.
Blessings,
Linda
