Finishing Up a Few Projects

Although I’ve been wanting to work on some projects around the house, I’ve been finishing up some craft projects these days. It’s been so hot, I just haven’t had the energy or drive to tackle some of the home stuff like painting the tub, painting the kitchen, and don’t remind me … painting the outside of the house. Ugh! Definitely too hot for that! So here are some of the things I’ve accomplished the last couple weeks.

The new oil painting was hung in the living room.
Found this large oil painting at Goodwill for $5. A little beat up but I love the scene.
The original price was $80 from a boutique in Geneva. The frame alone is worth more than $5.
I worked on some more boxes. This one is painted in Louis Blue Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.
A white wash was applied and I rubbed about half off.
A French floral graphic from the Graphics Fairy was applied, followed by a little distressing.
Click here for my tutorial on transferring graphics. A final coat of clear wax was rubbed on.

I gave the interior a bit of a harlequin feel, adding a butterfly inside for interest.

Next up are some bottles. This one wears layers of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint …
Paris Gray, a little Old Ochre, and Pure White.
A label from Graphics Fairy was decoupaged to both the front and back.
Two more bottles were completed. Both have a layer of an old dress pattern.
I stamped script all over the dress pattern and added a bird nest stamp,
then decoupaged it onto both bottles.

Script parchment ribbon was wrapped around the bottle diagonally, and then a perfume label applied.
Some vintage lace wraps the bottle neck while little keys dangle down.
The little bottle wears the same stamped dress pattern, crinkled here and there.
Vintage lace is on the bottle neck, while seam binding ribbon holds the keys in place.
This coming week I’m working on some book page projects.
And hopefully I’ll get around to painting the tub, too … but the Olympics are distracting me!

  1. Love all your little projects! That painting is so beautiful – great find!

I’m the same as you. Heat turns me into a snail. I don’t want to go outside, I just wilt indoors instead!

    Have a great week xox
