French Wall Clock for the Family Room

A recent trip to World Market changed my decorating plans for the family room. I found a beautiful object in the store that I admired, and noticed happily that it was on sale for 50-percent off. I told myself I didn’t need it and kept shopping. But it haunted me. Halfway through the store I knew that pretty French wall clock was coming home with me.  (This post contains affiliate links.)

I still love the turquoise clock that previously took up this space on the wall, but told myself I could swap out the clocks according to the seasons.

I’ve loved French wall clocks for as long as I can remember.  This one became the inspiration for the fall decor in my family room.

I found a few new pillows to complement my clock. The button pillow and big brown pillow were new finds from World Market (and they were also on sale).

I had the fall garland on hand and draped it across my rusty ceiling tin.

On the coffee table is a simple fall vignette. A Moroccan-style lantern adds a little warmth while a single baby boo cozies up to decorative carved balls.

Since I removed the turquoise clock, I replaced the turquoise lamp with this hammered pewter accent lamp. I propped the lamp up on a cigar box I recently found at Binny’s Beverage Depot for $1.50.  I used another cigar box in my entryway’s fall decor.

Baby Boos add a touch of fall decor.

The Windsor chair is softened with a sheepskin throw while a basket of blankets is ready to warm cold tootsies on frosty fall evenings.

Finally, a fall spray adorns the top of my new French wall clock. I also dragged my French script pillows out of storage. I wasn’t planning on a neutral color scheme for this room, but the clock re-routed everything.

Does that ever happen to you?  A single object totally changes your decorating direction?

  1. Love your new clock and all the accent pieces you found to make it all come together. It says Fall to me!

  2. Love it Jennifer, the clock is lovely. Don’t have a World Market here. I go online sometimes. The garland is very pretty and a HUGE fan of baby boos.
