How to Make Lavender Rosemary Bath Salts

We’re still in the throes of winter, many of us are quarantining, and I thought it might be nice to focus on a little bit of luxury. What better way to unwind and de-stress than with a therapeutic soak in the bath tub?  Add fragrant, homemade lavender rosemary bath salts to your bath for increased health benefits. Lavender is used as aromatherapy for insomnia and anxiety and is a perfect choice for bath salts. Commonly used in bath therapy, rosemary helps those suffering from eczema or joint and muscle pain (www.webmd.com).

How to make lavender rosemary bath salts

 

You only need a few simple ingredients:

1 cup Dead Sea, Himalayan, or Mediterranean sea salt
1 cup Epsom salt
1/2 cup course Kosher salt
10-20 drops essential lavender oil
2-3 tablespoons dried lavender buds
2 tablespoons crushed, dried rosemary
purple food coloring (optional)

Combine the salts, lavender buds, and crushed rosemary in a bowl. Add the essential lavender oil and mix thoroughly.

To use, add one to two handfuls of bath salts after a couple of inches of water have filled the tub. Hold the salts under the faucet and let them fall into the running water.  You can stir the water around with your hand to help them dissolve. Lavender Rosemary Bath Salts

Ingredients

    1. There’s so many wonderful uses for lavender! And a bagful of the buds sure go a long way! I still have a jar of the peaches left. I may have to get those out this week.

    1. Hi JoAnn! I got the jars at Hobby Lobby. They have an assortment of sizes. Their glass jars frequently go on sale for 50% off so I always try to snag them during the sale.
