Lately I’m becoming more and more drawn to anything made with book pages! Within minutes the words on a book’s page take you to another place and time. The musty smell of an old book with an elegant cover is a sensory pleasure I’ll always treasure. And when you’re done with a book, you can transform it into a work of art. I’ve been collecting books for projects around the house and thanks to Pinterest, I’m finding an unending supply of crafts to make from inexpensive books found at yard sales and thrift stores. Some of the following creations are mine … some belong to others and they’ve been credited.
I reluctantly added these to
my Etsy shop, realizing I can make more for myself if they sell.
How cool are these paper ornament balls? I found these on Pinterest and have to try creating them!
Unfortunately, they weren’t linked from the original source so I have no instructions.
But I think I can figure it out … they look simple enough.
We used her old Sears catalogs, and then spray painted them green to make Christmas trees.
Maybe my grandmother is the reason why I enjoy working with paper projects so much.
How cute is this little bird with wire feet, perched on a coverless stack of books?
I’m lovin’ this
book page pumpkin and will make a few of these in time for Halloween.
There are several tutorials in blogland on how to make these and it looks super easy!
These would be great at Christmas or Valentine’s Day.
This bird’s nest would be fun to make at Easter. You can find it at
Domestifluff.
You could cut any shape for any holiday!
A darling paper heart garland. Again, you could use any shape to create this.
The pages were taken from The Silver Chalice, a wonderful story!
Pages were decoupaged on the back and inside doors of the cabinet.
The rest of the pages from The Silver Chalice were decoupaged on the top of my side tables.
Have you made anything using book pages? Include a link to your project in the comments below.
I’d love to see what you’ve made!
They are all just adorable:)
How inspirational…I love your butterfly boxes Jennifer. They’ll sell for sure! I really like book page crafts myself and lucky for me my daughter works at Half Price Books and my niece works at a library. Both of them keep me in good supply of pages. “:o) Now to get busy and do something with them. I don’t think I realized you had an etsy shop…I’m going to check it out.

What fun book page projects, Jennifer! I bought an old dictionary at Goodwill a couple of years ago and I’m still waiting to find some good projects for those pages. I never even thought of looking on Pinterest for ideas.
totally wonderful and inspirational pins
I love anything made with old book pages and have a Pinterest board dedicated to them. I pinned your post to my board!
As a lover of all things books, I do like all of your craft ideas for their pages.
Very neat projects. Each is unique. I love books and old books even more. I would feel uncomfortable cutting up a book. Where do you get the books for transformatio? Maybe I could cut up paperbacks! I see several projects of interest if I can get over the cutting hesitation.
Would love to learn your source.
Hugs, Ginger
