Pamper Yourself: 12 Ways

Christmas is over and it’s time to take a deep breath, relax a little, and enjoy a little “me time.” I’m sharing  ideas on how to pamper yourself so you can unwind. Chance are you’ve been decorating, cooking, baking, and cleaning. You shouldn’t feel guilty for taking care of yourself; it’s actually quite healthy.

Enjoy a Relaxing Bath

A warm bath relieves tight muscles and can do wonders to calm your nerves. Add your favorite fragance in the form of bath milk or salts and you’ll enhance the experience. I love the scent of  my DIY lemon chamomile bath salts that smell fabulous the minute you open the jar.

Another aromatic bath fragrance is Lavender Rosemary Bath Salts that are easy to make.

Aromatherapy for Linens

I don’t wear perfume because it tends to give me a headache, but I do like a light fragrance on clothing, linens, or even in the air. Linen spray can be pricey but you can save money by making your own. It takes just minutes and you can customize your fragrance. Pamper yourself by spritzing a bit onto clothes when getting dressed, or lightly spray your pillowcase before going to bed. During winter, I love my Lavender Linen Spray.

Closer to spring, I like to add a little bit of lemon to create Lavender Lemon Spray.

Another way to pamper yourself with fragrance is to toss a lavender-scented sachet into your dryer.

Light a Candle

While we’re on the topic of aromatherapy, nothing beats your favorite scent in the form of a candle. I like to make my own because it’s fun to do, and there’s something so rewarding about homemade scented candles. Not to mention, you have so many vessel options when creating scented jar candles.

Lavender candles are my all-time favorite. The scent of lavender is known to soothe and relax, so it’s the perfect choice of fragrance to pamper yourself.

Relax with a Warm Beverage

Why is  warm beverage so comforting on a winter’s day? I love waking up early and enjoying a creamy cup of coffee or a cappuccino while the house is still quiet. It’s an easy and economical way to indulge and pamper yourself at the beginning of each day. No cappuccino machine? No problem! See how to make cappuccino without fancy equipment!

Do I even need to remind you that chocolate is a great way to pamper yourself? Next time you break out a mug of hot chocolate, add peppermint marshmallows to add another layer of flavor to your favorite chocolate drink.

Spend Time with Nature

One of my favorite ways to pamper myself is to spend a little time outdoors with Mother Nature. Go for a snowy walk to help you unwind. I always feel better and more invigorated when I go outside for a walk, and at this time of year, a snowy walk is almost magical.
