Tis the Season for Dining and Decorating

Taking indoor photos continues to prove challenging, to say the least! Pulling my hair out a little while getting acquainted with my Nikon D3000 and figuring out what aperture to use and blah, blah, bah humbug! Tis not the season to be wrestling with a new camera. I’m ready to sit down, eat, drink, and be merry!

This is the dining room that’s getting a makeover that I mentioned in an earlier post.
The chairs are wearing a new coat of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint … Duck Egg Blue.
I’m debating what color to paint the Windsor chairs.
White? Black? Leave as is with their original stain? Please help me decide!

I’m lovin’ ASCP, this was my first shot at it. So easy! While at the store picking up paint,
I scored these blue-wired snowflake ornaments.

These sparkly blue snowflakes were just $2 each, from Carter’s Cottage Interiors in Dekalb.
Great store, I might add. You’ll find lots of yummy ASCP furniture make-overs while there.

The dishes are Waechtersbach Christmas Tree pattern, the goblets are Waterford crystal.
Both were handed down to me from my mother. The flatware is Colin Cowie.

The silver and red sparkly Christmas trees were bargains from The Little Traveler,
Me loves a few shiny baubles!

Hope You’ll Join Me at These Parties …

  1. My struggle with getting the perfect photo is constant, so I completely understand what you’re experiencing! Your table looks great, and I love those blue chairs. I would consider leaving the other chairs natural wood. They really complement the blue.

  3. Your Waechtersbach dishes are so pretty. I always have thought they were the most cheerful Christmas dishes, each time I see them. I like your vintage ornaments and bottle brush trees, too.

  4. Hi Jennifer!

Those little blue chairs have such a cute shape! I always love Windsor chairs that are painted black. It would give a good contrast in your kitchen.

  6. Your ornaments incorporated into the tablescape are wonderful. The quilt over the Windsor chair adds so much warmth to the room. I think these chairs would look stunning in black! I’ll be watching future posts for your decision.
