Vintage Cottage: Charming Home Series

Valentine’s Day is less than two weeks away so I thought I’d share a sweet little vintage cottage dressed in red and white – perfect for Cupid’s holiday. The cottage has a well-loved and slightly worn look that I think you’ll find charming and endearing. This quaint home was shared on Houzz by Tumbleweed & Dandelion. (This post contains affiliate links.)

Soft white slipcovers and grain sack pillows create a shabby chic vibe in the living.

The architectural elements in today’s vintage cottage home is impressive. A little bit of rustic style pairs so well with cottage elements to create a pleasing design scheme.

All you vintage lovers will appreciate this collection of stoneware and white dishes. Pops of red and blue keep the space from looking bland or boring.

A large printing sign adds an appealing graphic touch to the cottage-style porch. The frame mimics the chippy mint green paint found on the farmhouse table. White wicker furniture is the perfect pairing in this porch designed for dining.

The vintage cottage reveals plenty of chippy finishes and shabby chic decor. The almost-white bedroom is clutter-free and serene.

Another bedroom reveals a shot of color with vivid pillows lined up at attention. Diamond-mullioned windows and a whitewashed plank ceiling add visual interest.

True to form, the vintage bathroom features a claw foot tub beneath an over-sized window. I’m in love with that white ironstone tureen atop the chippy bathroom cabinet.

A simple, industrial-style lighting pendant keeps watch over the vintage bathroom with a blue-painted built-in shelving unit.

The homeowner adds a bit more red to the vintage cottage in the form of flowers stuffed into a white enamelware bucket.

And in the spirit of Valentine’s Day, vintage red and white fabric hearts fill a small bowl.

  1. I think I loved just about everything in this house’s decor. But there were 2 items I would buy today if I could find them. They are the chippy display cabinet in the bathroom and the stand holding the canisters in the kitchen. Thanks for sharing the sweet cottage.

    1. I forgot to add that if you go to Wayfair.com type in lace shower curtains, that will eliminate the hundreds of shower curtains that will pop up!
