Wall Art: Medley of Mirrors

I don’t know why, but I think one of the best arrangements of art on a wall is a medley of mirrors. In my humble opinion, they don’t have to match. Pair a contemporary mirror with an antique mirror. Tuck a rustic mirror next to a gilded mirror. Color doesn’t matter either … white, blue, bronze, black. Whatever your heart desires. I think an eclectic mix provides greater eye candy.

Found this shabby little mirror for $15 at Carter’s Cottage.
It fit perfectly above my shabby white shutter in the family room.
My neighbor put this shutter in her garbage, but I rescued it before the garbage truck came by.
She’s picked stuff out of my garbage pile too. It’s a beautiful relationship.
These two mirrors are in my dining room (still working on this wall).
Both of these mirrors are also from Carter’s Cottage, which happens to be my source for ASCP.
Sounds like a drug, doesn’t it … the ASCP dealer. I suppose it is addicting in its own way.
Hubby thought I was nuts for buying this “broken” mirror. I told him that’s what I love about it.
The color is great too … I don’t have a lot of green but I like unexpected pops of color.
I’m thinkin’ this mirror wears Old White. I can’t remember the price of the green and white mirrors.
But I’m pretty sure they were both under $25. The white one might have been under $10.
This pink mirror is also on the same wall in the dining room. Isn’t she lovely?
This was my one splurge at $45 … also from Carter’s Cottage.
I love the little detail at the top. So romantic. This is one of my favorites.
I love this beauty, also in the dining room but a different wall.
Found this gilded girl for just $10, in a resale store across the street from Carter’s.
The store has a 2nd floor room, up a gloomy, musty stairwell. Nothin’ fancy, but some great treasures.
Haven’t decided if I’m going to paint this one. What do you think? Paint, or leave as is?
A simple oval mirror, also from the 2nd floor resale shop. I paid $15 for this one.
Let’s go back into the family room.
This little blue mirror is about 6″ square and another find from Carter’s Cottage.
I’m thinkin’ it wears Louis Blue ASCP with dark wax.
Pretty sure this metal mirror with the French crown is new. The mirror is the small circle in the center.
Guess what I paid for this one? It’s about 7″ in diameter.
Just $4 from La Maison Marche and one of my fave stores!
They also have a booth at the Kane County Flea Market each month.
I posted more photos of my mirrors here.
There’s another mirror sitting atop my craft cabinet in the family room.
Trixie likes to jump up there and admire herself.  The toile hat boxes are also from La Maison Marche.
This isn’t a mirror but I wanted to take a picture of it hanging in the family room.
It’s some type of lantern with a place for a candle inside. I don’t know much about it.
I found it at the flea market for $6. I loved the color and brought it home.
If you know anything about it … please share your knowledge!

  2. Really like your mirrors & your shabby white shutter. Have been looking and looking for shutters but all I find are plastic ones–yuck. I think leave the gilded mirror as is. It’s lovely. You can always change it later if you feel the need to make it match something.

  3. I LOVE your pink mirror! The way you put all of the mirrors together is beautiful and the shutter is a perfect addition! Carter’s is one of my favorite places….always great finds and the “girls” are wonderful!

  4. Loving all your mirrors, but especially the pink one. Love the detail on top. Love the look of all the mirrors, a very classy and elegant look. Oh I almost forgot love the shabby shutter, so glad your and your neighbor “share” pieces. Thanks for sharing your creative inspiration over at Sunday’s Best!

  6. I’m a mirror-lover as well! I especially love them in collage walls. They’re art without the commitment to subject or color.
I like your little gold one gold, but it would be great painted, too. It’s wonderful! You have a great collection.

  7. Love all the mirrors. I would leave that one as is as you have many others that are painted. I love all of them and you are really a good bargain hunter as I know how expensive an area you live in! It’s not easy to get such great buys there. You’re good!
I think I need more mirrors now that I see yours especially since this house doesn’t let a lot of light in. Yours look wonderful in your house! Not sure what that lantern thing is but I like it. You could get one of those battery operated candles on a timer to put in there. TTYL!

  8. The mirrow frames definitely add character to the walls, rending them unique. I like the colors as well, very lucky you saved the shutter just in time.

  9. Jennifer, I like lots of your mirrors, but almost fell off my chair when I saw the picture with the toile boxes. Your cat, Trixie, looks so much like my cat Trixie it’s amazing.

  10. I’m visiting from My Romantic Home and I’m so glad I found you.
I love all your mirrors. actually I literally in L.O.V.E. with vintage mirrors as they add so much character to any room and yet they are so feminine and romantic.
I’ve so much enjoyed my visit today and will be back soon for more inspiration.

  11. I love using mirrors to decorate with, too, Jennifer. And you have a wonderful collection. But it was that incredible shutter that really grabbed my attention!
