My first adult home was a bungalow style Sears kit house. You know, one of those homes you buy out of a catalog and all the supplies are shipped to your lot. That darling little house had an adorable sun room at the front. The row of windows faced south and in the winter all the sunlight was captured and would heat up the room. We’d leave the doors open in that sunroom to help heat the house. And in the summer, it was shaded from the large leafy maple trees out front. Sometimes I drive by that charming house and remember sitting in that sunroom. Since I’m feeling nostalgic about it, I’ve decided to share a few pretty sunrooms for you to fall in love with!
LOVE this sunroom! First, that architectural ceiling! It’s just gorgeous. The pretty chandelier draws your eye up toward it. And just below, diamond patterned windows top expansive windows that hug the room. Underfoot, a rustic wood floor is softened by a simple rug. Cushy, curvy furniture lends a bit of elegance. If I lived in this house, this room would be all mine.
If you enjoy rustic decor, this example of pretty sunrooms is sure to tug at your heart strings. What a great place to curl up with a good book and enjoy the scenery outside. It’s secluded and cozy!
This simple sunny room has charming cottage appeal. The wire bench is darling and reminds me of Victorian days gone by. On the wall is a painted Swedish bench facing the windows to drink in the view.
Does it get any prettier than this? The gardener in me is green with envy looking at the entrance to this sunroom that’s used as a greenhouse. The arched doorway is amazing and hints at what’s inside.
It goes without saying that if you have a lakeside home, you have to have sunroom to enjoy this bit of heaven on earth.
Of course, the same can be said for an oceanfront home as well!
Who says a sunroom has to be filled with love seats and chairs? This one houses a kitchen. I would love to cook in this kitchen with all that fabulous light. My kitchen has a trio of windows over the kitchen sink and I love that I have such a great view of our yard when I’m cooking.
This grand room should be called a conservatory! Remember the murder mystery game “Clue”? That was the first I had ever heard of a conservatory. “Colonel Mustard did it in the Conservatory with the candlestick.” Did you ever play that game?
I love this space! Of all the pretty sunrooms here, this one has a glass ceiling in addition to glass walls. What an uplifting space to host a dinner party. I’d string little white lights inside and out to create a magical evening. And I’d make sure that gorgeous chandie has a dimmer switch for evenings. During the day, you’d almost feel like you were at a botanical garden.
The last of our pretty sunrooms to love is this classic room with dark wood floors and a white vaulted ceiling. Who needs a living room when you have a gorgeous sunroom like this to relax in?
Which sunroom do you like best?
