Here’s a clever idea. Place your garden flowers in a hanging willow basket. Snapdragons add a spray of color in this entryway. I’ve loved snapdragons since I was a little girl. I loved plucking the little heads off and making them “talk” by squeezing the sides. Did you do that too?

Here’s another idea for hanging your summer flower arrangements – place them in a Mason jar, wrap wire around the rim and hang from a hook. Notice there are just a few flowers. Fill out the bouquet with clippings from your bushes.

If you don’t have the type of flowers in your garden that can be cut, and you don’t feel like traipsing through fields for wildflowers, you can still find beautiful blooms at the store. Use the same philosophy of not doing too much fluffing and arranging and simply let them fall naturally into your vase.

  1. I will take flowers anyway i can get them, even weeds, which i have, grandchildren are great flower pickers. I love all these pretty ideas, thanks Jennifer.

  2. I love all flower arrangements from formal to informal. I for the longest time was taking floral arrangement classes at my local senior center. I have to say it was the most fun. We made arrangements worthy of a florist shop but also made silly, fluffy arrangements like you said above. I think the best was when we all had the same flowers and used the basic simple principal and how each and every arrangement turned out so different but so beautiful. All it takes is a little imagination any gorgeous flower a bit of greenery and you have a beautiful arrangement.
