A Warm White Scandinavian Kitchen

I know, I know. Most people think that all-white kitchens are cold-looking, not warm. But I think this white Scandinavian kitchen will convince you that there is such a thing as “warm white” when it comes to interior spaces. After all, even light bulbs are defined by the type of white light they produce, from cool white to soft white to warm white.

So what gives this kitchen a warmer vibe than most white ones? The use of wood. Instead of stone counter tops, the owner opted for butcher block. They also added wood elements on the open shelves, and the texture of the brick helps add interest to avoid a sterile look.

Dried floral arrangements in a neutral tone lend a bit of texture which also helps to warm up the space. Also, the cabinets are more of a creamy white as opposed to a pure white. I believe the refrigerator is a SMEG fridge.

Fruits and vegetables are on display to add a slight bit of color, along with a faux plant next to the sink.

I like the stove and oven in this warm white Scandinavian kitchen even though it’s small – it has a bit of a vintage vibe. The enamel tins on the shelves also add vintage charm.

The kitchen island is fabulous. It has plenty of workspace, a convenient breakfast bar, and it’s on wheels! That makes it easy to move around when vacuuming and mopping. My kitchen island is not on wheels and I have to flex a little muscle any time I move it.

Last month I featured a Scandinavian kitchen with blue cabinets – today it’s a warm white Scandinavian kitchen. Do you have a favorite between the two?

  1. This kitchen may be white but it’s not cold. The texture added with the wood counter tops and that favorite of mine, painted brick! I’m in!

  2. I think it is beautiful. I love the floors too, and to have an island on wheels — that would be so convenient to be able to move it anywhere. Thanks, Jennifer.
