Adirondack Chairs for Easy Outdoor Living

Is there any piece of outdoor furniture that says “summer” more than quintessential Adirondack chairs? Seeing one reminds me of lazy days on the beach, or laid back evenings gathered around a toasty fire. I instantly think “vacation” when I see a photo of one. Hopefully these examples will do the same for you. (This post contains affiliate links.)

Three challenges of outdoor furniture is finding something that can stand up to the elements, is comfortable, and pretty to look at. I have four Adirondack chairs and I do find them to be incredibly comfortable. And look how great they look on a deck near the water!

In my opinion, they’re the timeless outdoor vacation chair – you find them nearly anywhere you go: the woods, the beach, by a campfire, on a porch – they’re everywhere.

Don’t be fooled into thinking these chairs are only for casual locations. Adirondack chairs look great in a formal setting too, creating a somewhat eclectic look.

Don’t you feel beckoned to sit in one of these any time you see them? I imagine this pair enjoys amazing views of the country garden.

Let’s talk about color! You can find a wide range of color options for Adirondack chairs. This red duo matches the trim of the house perfectly.

And then there’s orange, which stands out brilliantly against the green foliage.

Every day I try to spend some time de-stressing by the pond in my ablue Adirondack chairs. Sometimes I enjoy coffee in the morning, and sometimes it’s dinner or wine at night.

It’s always a comfortable spot to relish nature and the great outdoors!

  1. I love the look of Adirondack chairs, but as I get older, find that the original design can be difficult to get out of once you sit. Some of the newer models are made less slanted, and I have a couple of those myself. Old age is one compromise after another. (Smile)
Your pond is beautiful. What a great place for relaxing.

  2. They are so comfy and pretty at the same time and I love the different styles they have now. I truly don’t blame you for sitting out in this beautiful spot, it certainly could melt away all the stress of life.

  3. If only someone would design Adirondack chairs that aren’t so low to the ground for us 70+ year olds!

    1. Hi Gayle! You bring up a good point. I don’t know why Adirondack chairs are always low to the ground. It’s easier getting in than getting out of them them!

    1. Hi Deb! I’ll do an update on the pond once the waterlilies are blooming. It’s so much prettier when the pond has some color. And yes, the kitchen. Sigh. I made a last minute decision on trim color but it’s getting there! Hope all is well with you.
