Beach Cottage Rental: Australia Meets the UK

home tour February 28, 2021

You’re in for a treat today! We’re touring a beach cottage rental located in Cubert, UK. Casual and comfortable Australian style is featured throughout the home. Unique Homestays, offers it as a vacation rental, along with many others.

A large porch above allows for plenty of outdoor relaxing. The hammock looks especially inviting.

Baskets on hooks in the entryway create a space for dropping off flip flops, sunglasses, or whatever else you might to temporarily store. Pale wood paneling keeps a light and bright atmosphere throughout the beach cottage.

The kitchen retains organic appeal through the use of light wood finishes. Rattan chairs cozy up to a small round wood table for a quick snack or meal.

Here’s another view of the rustic table, which looks like one of those cable wire spools. It’d make a cute patio table, too.

Here’s a cozy alcove that looks as though it might serve as an extra bedroom. This is probably the room I’d choose to sleep in on a family vacation. I usually let my kids choose their bedrooms first and take what’s left over.

You can see how light and airy this beach cottage rental is due to the open concept floor plan, light wood finishes, vaulted ceiling, and plenty of windows. I like the way shelves are incorporated on the wall by the firewood stove.

What a dreamy bedroom! It’s so ethereal-looking. It’s not a big room, but it doesn’t need to be. When you’re on vacation you don’t spend much time in the bedroom. You’re out exploring the beach and all that nature has to offer.

Even the bathroom is pretty. Sometimes it can be a challenge to find a vacation rental that’s attractive while still suiting all your needs. I’m lovin’ the faucets above the bowl sink.

Here’s where I’d find myself at the beginning and end of the day. Coffee in the morning and white wine in the evening. It’s cozy and secluded.

Cornwall, eh? I had to look up Cubert. This is such a cute cottage, but so un-English. I love it, especially the master bedroom. Definitely Unique.

It is definitely unique. I love all of the repurposed wood, and every inch of it looks so comfortable. Another great tour, Jennifer. Thanks.

These cottages are so so cute. What constitutes a cottage is it the decor or a specifict style of a house? Another question L have has nothing to do with cottages but I always wondered when I take a tour of homes, why are the pillows on a sofa, bed, or chair always look like someone did a karate chop at the to of the pillow. Is that a style or does it have some kind of special meaning?
I tried it on my pillows and they wont stay with the karate chop at the top. Anyhow I was just curious. Thanks Kim
