A beautiful historic Boston home by Hudson Interior Design exemplifies the modern country style that’s become my favorite. I’ve loved country style for over 30 years due to its timeless appeal. Today’s tour features a mix of vintage pieces blended with new, all within a rustic background for a fresh look on historic style.

In the living room above, a collection of older books add a bit of color to a vintage black cabinet with a new, large round mirror.
A cozy den with rough hewn paneling enjoys a blue, velvet Chesterfield sofa with a cowhide rug. Sliding barn doors add to the rustic appeal of this cozy space.

The dining room features beautiful leather chairs gathered around the large wood dining table. An oil painting and farmhouse style chandelier add to the modern country style of this warm and pretty space.

What I love so much about this home is its organic, historic appeal. Rough hewn ceilings, stone walls, old wood floors, and classic traditional furniture. The historic Boston home retains its vintage vibe while providing the comforts for modern day living.

The master bedroom is like a suite in an expensive historic hotel. Sitting areas are included in this spacious bedroom with painted wood-paneled ceiling. Windows are without curtains but have roll-down shades for blocking light when sleeping.Â
