Good Changes Coming to My Blog!

Happy Saturday to all of you! I’m just popping in today to let you know about some changes coming to my blog, Town and Country Living.

I started my blog seven years ago! I can’t believe it’s been that long ago since I nervously published my first post about my daughter Bridget’s burlap and lace wedding.

Bridget's Country Wedding

The first time I showed pictures of the outside of my house was back in November of 2011. I think I was using a simple point and shoot camera back then.

The most nervous post of all time was when I shared my kitchen on the blog. I thought everyone would hate it but I stepped out of my comfort zone and hit the dreaded “publish” button.

It took me a full year before I was brave enough to share a full room tour of the kitchen, and let me tell you, it was filled with plenty of angst and anxiety. But then a wonderful thing happened. I received over 100 positive comments about my kitchen which left me in appreciative tears of joy!

I eventually forked over some cash for a DSLR Nikon camera because Christmas was coming and I planned to feature my Christmas home tour. Omigoodness! I’ll never forget how awful that was. I couldn’t even figure out how to get the camera to focus and cried because I just spent all that money for nothing.

But I buckled down and started reading about how to operate my camera. I managed to learn enough to take semi-decent photos for Christmas. That first Holiday Home Tour caught the eye of an editor and earned me a multi-page spread in Country Sampler’s Christmas issue of 2013! I still love my vintage Christmas tree from back then.

My blog journey has been fun and interesting and I hope to keep it going for many years to come! Along the way, changes are made like a new design, improved logo, or new topics.

Changes are coming. New beginnings

I’m happy to announce the upcoming change for my blog! I decided to get a new blog design, a new logo, and a new name!! Town and Country Living will transition to Jennifer Zuri in about a month.

My content will stay the same so you’ll still be able to enjoy home tours on Sunday along with other home decor, garden, and food inspiration posts along the way. And no worries – if you log onto town-n-country-living.com, you’ll be taken directly to jenniferzuri.com. Any photos you might have pinned will still come directly to my blog.

Changing my blog to my name is something I’ve wanted to do for a while now. I finally decided to pull the trigger. There are a few other things I’ve been thinking of doing lately and a new blog name makes it easier to keep everything under one site and one umbrella.

So stay tuned! Other than the new name and web design, not much else is changing. I’ve contracted Moonsteam Design – Sara is a fabulous designer and I think you’re going to love the new look which you’ll see in about a month. For now, keep coming to town-n-country-living.com!

  1. I admire you very much for “stepping outside your comfort zone” as this is an anxiety producing thought for me on a daily basis. You have done yours with style, good taste and grace. Your blog has become a safe and calm harbor in a stormy culture. You deliver the reader more than you may ever know, at least for me you do. Continued good fortune and keep the delightful pictures coming.

  2. Just wanted to say that no matter what the name is I will LOVE what you share, because YOUR style is so VERY MUCH the same as MY style; if I could, my kitchen would be much like yours with the more old-fashioned cabinet choices and such. I live in a rental so can’t do much to change my cabinets, but, if I were building or buying, that would be my choice as well. LOVED the pictures from your Daughter’s wedding, as I wasn’t a subscriber at that point. I live in a townhome but I’ve done my very best over the past five and a half years to turn it into a faux farmhouse, because you can take the girl away from the farm, but you can’t take the farm out of the girl.

  3. Congratulations! Life is an adventure and ever changing. I’m sure your new format will be as engaging as your first venture, sharing what your readers have come to love and enjoy. Keep up the good work, we’ll be waiting here to hear from you!!!

  4. Whatever you do i am in support for any and all, i love everything about your blog and know that won’t change with just a name it is still you.

  5. I will anxiously await your new design and name. Why not put your name out there – you do all the work, and whomever sees your blog needs to know just who is the creator of all these wonderful ideas and this great information. I hope the name exposure will benefit you in many ways and I will always be one of your most loyal followers. Your style is my style always and I look to yours first in my email because I know it will be something just for me. :+)

  7. It will be fun to see your new look, I have loved your blog for a long time now, and would surely miss your darling house,
and decorating flair, have a great weekend!!!

  8. Jennifer, regardless of what you name your blog it will always be one of only a handful I read regularly. Blogs come and go and many lose my interest as not relevant to me or life in tropical Australia but I have read you for a long time and still love it. Well done in breaking from your comfort zone.

  9. Looking forward to whatever changes and plans you have! Your blog is always interesting and relevant! So happy I found this blog!

  10. Jennifer, blessings in every step, in every project and in every detail that it will bring a touch of love for all of us!!! ❤️🐑
    Thanks, Cruzita

  11. Love what you do, style, taste, I am an avid follower of your blog, looking forward to following you on your new website too. Thank you Christine
