Cabins, Tiny Homes, and Pumpkin Pie: Friday Finds #70

Happy Ides of October! We’re mid-month and only have a tinge of color on the trees. It seems like peak fall season keeps getting a little later. Next weekend we’re going on a “leaf peeping” getaway and I think the colors will be in full swing. I’m looking forward to spending time in the small historic town of Grand Detour that doesn’t have any street lights. I want to hike all the nearby trails, visit the local bakery and coffee shop, and hubby wants to do a little fishing in Rock River. It’ll be nice to have a quiet weekend with no television.

Little Cabin in the Woods during Autumn

This Week’s Friday Finds:

Who doesn’t love the warmth and hygge vibe of a cozy cabin? Check out this Sewanee “cabin” in Tennessee that’s both rustic and elegant all at once. Honestly, it’s beautifully decorated and you might just fall in love.

One of my favorite cookbooks is by the blogger at Half Baked Harvest, so I couldn’t resist sharing her chai pumpkin pie with maple whipped cream recipe. I’m drooling just looking at it!

While you’re carving yourself a piece of pie, enjoy a beverage in this perfect autumn mug (I need to get one, pronto). And while you’re indulging yourself, don a pair of these cozy fall socks (which are on sale!) from Kiel James Patrick.

Feeling crafty? Try your hand at making this asymmetrical holiday wreath, With its use of magnolia leaves and evergreens, it could easily transition from fall into Christmas.

I must be in cabin mode thinking about next week’s getaway because I’m sharing more cozy cabins and tiny homes that are available to rent for vacation. Maybe there’s one near you so you can enjoy a quick getaway, too.

I’ll end with this collection of exterior paint color combinations that are perfect for improving a home’s curb appeal. You might find you have a favorite!

Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. Take time to be good to yourself even if it’s something simple like enjoying a relaxing bubble bath!
