Transform Your Entryway into a Cozy Fall Oasis

Happy first day of fall! Let’s usher in the new season with easy ideas to transform your entryway into a cozy fall oasis. Most of these are easy to do and won’t break the bank, either.

Before you even open the door to your entryway, greet visitors with a beautiful, autumn wreath. It sets the tone before stepping inside.

Most people have some type of table in their entryway. It’s a great place to display branches with fall leaves. You can purchase faux branches from the store, but why not save a few dollars and clip stems from the yard? Sugar maples, golden maples, burning bush, and oak leaf hydrangea are just a few trees and bushes with beautiful fall colors. Add pillows in fall colors if you have a bench in the entryway, and top it all off with a fall painting.

I love this collection of pumpkins in a long basket on the bottom of this entryway’s console table. Dried fall flowers make an eye-catching arrangement on top. Perfect for wowing guests to your home.

You’re lucky this time of year if you already decorate with fall colors in your home. A vintage metal pitcher filled with fall branches pairs beautifully with the tufted leather settee. And of course, a beautiful leather bag can be dropped here to add to the fall color scheme of the entryway. Looks like the perfect cozy fall oasis to me!

I never thought to drape cozy blankets over an entryway table, but why not? Of course, one of my kitties would choose to nap on top of them, adding to the entryway decor.

This console table vignette is one of my favorites in today’s collection, mainly because I love the simplicity of the wall art with its almost-barren tree and lone deer. But I also love the foraged finds like the scattered acorns and dried floral arrangement. Note how height is added to the arrangement with wispy branches tucked into the middle of the flowers. They blend right into the branches of the tree in the painting.

Use a large bunch of long, leafy branches to create a cozy fall oasis in your entryway. Fill a basket with autumn-hued blankets underneath a table or next to a small bench. Pillows and blankets are an easy way to add fall color to any space in your home.

And finally, an oversized collection of dried grasses, autumn leaves, and pods fill a white urn in front of a vintage mirror. A smaller vessel cradles a bunch of foliage from outdoors. The large fall arrangement really catches the eye when crossing the threshold into your home. It’s fun to go for walks in the woods and forage for items to bring inside. You could always buy foliage at the store, but I find scavenging them is half the fun of decorating for fall.

I hope today’s collection for creating a cozy fall oasis helps inspire you to do the same in your own entryway. It can be as simple as a pumpkin with scattered acorns, to a more elaborate autumn floral arrangement.

  1. I have been reading fall decor ideas since Aug but I must say this entryway is the most beautiful. It is the first day of fall but here in N.C. it is rainy and a bit windy. Perfect day to finalize some of my seasonal change over. My base colors are neutral so it’s easy to add fall colors.
Happy first day of fall and thankyou for all your inspiration.

    1. Hi Kathy! Glad you enjoyed these entryways. We had wind and rain last weekend – this weekend looks like it’s going to be perfect here in the Chicago ‘burbs. Enjoy your first day of fall!
