Charming Home Tour ~ Breeze Inn

Southern breezes are blowing as we tour another Tybee Island rental cottage. The Breeze Inn belongs to novelist Mary Kay Andrews, author of Savannah Breeze. She named the cottage after the fictional Breeze Inn from her best-selling novel. This charming home has all the cottage appeal you’d expect to see in an island retreat. Ready for the tour?

Breeze Inn on Tybee IslandA mermaid whirligig greets visitors to the island cottage which can be rented through Mermaid Cottages. The 2-story vacation home is located on the island’s bike trail, making it convenient to get out and explore.

Pink Front Door in a Cottage Entry WayA pretty pink door opens into the entry way of the island cottage with its hardwood floors. Keep the door open and enjoy the sea breezes off the coast of Tybee Island!

Beach Cottage Living RoomClassic pendant lights hang above the dining table in the background, while pink pillows on a white couch echo the color of the front door. Wooden shutters at the windows provide privacy when needed.

Beach Style Cottage KitchenI love the use of color throughout this beach cottage. A pale green wall adds interest at the end of the galley kitchen while glass front cabinets make it easy to locate dishes.

Coastal Style BedroomA coastal style bedroom receives plenty of natural light with ample windows.

Cottage Style BedroomThe home is decorated with vintage finds collected by Mary Kay Andrews herself.

This bedroom has loads of coastal charm!

Vintage Style BathroomA vintage mirror is suspended by a chain over a dresser-turned-vanity in one of the bathrooms. I’ve been looking for a dresser for our downstairs bathroom sink, but have yet to find just the right piece. Maybe I’ll get lucky at one of the flea markets this summer.

Vintage Style BathroomThe Breeze Inn was built around 1942 and has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.

Screened Porch at Breeze Inn on Tybee IslandAfter a day at the beach you can relax and unwind on the screened porch. Plenty of wicker seating creates cozy conversation areas. Mermaid Cottages offers so many charming homes to spend your vacation in. It’s hard to choose!

Mary Kay Andrews Book and Vintage ItemsOne thing that makes Breeze Inn uniquely special is that Mary Kay Andrews leaves a note for each new set of guests, along with an autographed copy of one of her books! I love that she’s decorated this charming home with so many of her vintage finds!  You can see more coastal rental homes at Mermaid Cottages.

  1. I love MKA’s novels! How fabulous that her characters are patterned after her own interests of decorating and antiquing. I love the mix of white walls, wood floors, and splashes of color–just exactly what I envision a beach cottage to be like! Thanks so much for sharing!
