Charming Home Tour ~ Domestic Imperfection

Deep in the heart of Texas comes a charming home that we’re going to tour today. Ashley is a DIY blogger with a young family. In fact, she just had a baby boy not too long ago, and he’s a cutie-pie! Ashley has made a lot of changes to her home in the past few years and you can see all the transformations on her blog at Domestic Imperfection.

Expansive Front Porch in Texas

Ashley’s home greets you with a large front porch. It’s deep enough for plenty of seating.

A ceiling fan overhead provides gentle breezes on a hot summer’s day.

Contemporary Kitchen with Painted CabinetsPainted cabinets greet you in the kitchen. Ashley has done a lot of work in this room and it looks great! The planked walls create a farmhouse feel in the room, and the large pass-through window lets in plenty of light from the living room.

DIY Penny CountertopAshley is so creative! Her pass-through window has a penny counter top she created. I remember the first time I saw this, I had to take a second and third look!

Spacious Contemporary Living RoomGorgeous hardwood floors set the stage for Ashley’s living room. Plenty of room for the kids to play and plenty of seating space for the adults. Did you spy the state of Texas artwork above the sofa?

Planked Wall Dining RoomI just adore Ashley’s dining room! Planked walls continue in here from the kitchen and a colorful plate wall adds plenty of character. Pretty floor-to-ceiling drapes create vertical lines in contrast to the horizontal lines of the planked walls. A bay window captures lots of light.

Small yet functional laundry roomAshley has created a charming laundry room with a pretty patterned skirt and painted cabinets with chicken wire for the cabinet face. I want to re-do my laundry room soon and I’m bookmarking the chicken wire idea!

Guest Bedroom with Stone WallIn the guest bedroom, Ashley created a stone wall which gives the room dimension. The southwest bedding is the perfect choice for this room with its textured wall.

Simple Master BedroomThe sunny master bedroom has a soft blend of colors.

Ashley made the rustic wall art above the bed.

Master Bathroom with Painted Dresser used as VanityIn the master bathroom, a painted dresser serves as a functional vanity. I’ve been on the look-out for a dresser to use as my downstairs bathroom vanity but no such luck yet. Maybe I’ll find something at one of this year’s flea markets.

This home featured seems so much more like “home” to me and I can see implementing things I’ve already seen in other homes in my home that looks more “imperfect”! 🙂
Thank you for bringing us daily home inspirations!
