Charming Home Tour ~ Maison de Pax

Would you like to live in Paris for a while? That’s exactly what Texas native Rachel from Maison de Pax did with her hubby 6 years after they were married. Now they’re back in the states redecorating their classic Colonial home and raising their two young boys. I especially love her kitchen, but all of her charming home is quite gorgeous.

Exterior of Charming 1940 Colonial HomeThis is what Rachel’s home looks like today. She painted the red brick this gorgeous, peaceful shade. I love the large multi-paned windows.

Light and Airy White KitchenHer newly remodeled white kitchen is perfection! Gorgeous countertops with a subway tile backsplash. And I love that her kitchen island is on wheels. Note to self: add wheels to island to make it easier to move when cooking and cleaning the floor.

Light and Airy White KitchenSuch a pretty space to cook in!

Living Room with Large Map of ParisIn the living room, Rachel hung a large map of Paris over the couch. Decorative touches in the home provide so much more interest when there’s a personal story behind them.  The map is a reminder of their time spent overseas.

Traditional Dining Room of Maison de PaxRachel added a beautiful bench to her dining room seating.  The large glass-front hutch creates ample storage for dishes and serving pieces … not to mention it adds classic beauty to the room.

Office Space with Built-in BookshelvesRachel weaves neutral tones throughout her home like you see here in her office. She does it in a fresh way that adds contemporary appeal to her older home.

Traditional Master BedroomIn the master bedroom, Rachel added a pop of red with the painted dresser.

A pretty tufted bench can hold bedding or other items.

Master Bathroom MakeoverRachel gave her master bathroom a stunning makeover. The vanity has wonderful detailing!

Boys Bedroom with Playful BannerThe boys’ bedroom sports a fun and colorful banner.

Have you noticed the gorgeous wood floors throughout Rachel’s Colonial home?

Attic bedroom with whitewashed wallsA special surprise in Rachel’s charming home is this attic bedroom. Rachel whitewashed the ceilings and walls. Doesn’t it look great? Love the rustic trunk! Rachel made the plank flag above the bed.

DIY Ruffled CurtainsRachel includes a lot of DIY projects on her blog, like these feminine, ruffled curtains.

Head on over to Maison de Pax to see more of Rachel’s projects and charming home.

  2. What a lovely home, Jennifer! I so much enjoyed this post. Since I haven’t been able to visit much lately, I tried to do a little catching up and I love the Tybee Island house too! Tybee is close to where I grew up and holds some sweet memories for me. Have a great Memorial Day!
