Charming Leo Cottage in Union Pier

I’m excited about today’s featured home tour because it’s an Airbnb rental that I hope to rent sometime this year. In fact, I’ve had my eye on this rental for over a year now. Welcome to Leo Cottage by Kate Marker Interiors, located in Union Pier, Michigan.

From the moment you set eyes on Leo Cottage, you can tell it’s the quintessential beach house for a casual vacation on Lake Michigan.

You’ll notice natural textures throughout the vacation rental property, from woven pendant lights to wood and rattan furniture to natural wood ceilings and floors.

Leo Cottage embraces an earthy, organic vibe throughout its open floor plan. A cool, wood coffee table grabs your eye in the living room and wanders back to the kitchen where you spy the Big Chill refrigerator.

A collection of black pendant lights illuminate the kitchen with its wood-beamed ceiling and patterned floor. A large rustic table serves as the kitchen island and breakfast bar.

The white stove is the Classic model from Big Chill and is exactly what I’d love to  have in my kitchen. It’s quite pricey, though. Maybe they’d comp me one in exchange for a few blog posts. LOL. I love their products and it would be my dream to have my kitchen outfitted with their retro appliances.

Adjacent to the unfitted kitchen is a tufted banquette tucked in a corner of windows for casual dining.

A second dining space enjoys a unique, rope light fixture.

Leo Cottage has three bedrooms and bathrooms and can sleep up to 10 people. Union Pier is about a two-hour drive from my house and would make a perfect weekend getaway.

A vintage claw foot tub has a shower surround nestled between built-in bookshelves. If you look carefully you’ll notice a lattice screen just outside the window to provide privacy when showering or bathing.

Bedrooms are tastefully decorated in light colors with more texture in the way of basket lights and rattan furniture.

A walk-in shower is available in another bathroom, along with a unique, wooden vanity.

Kiddos can enjoy the light and bright bunk room with its expanse of windows.

The outdoor gardens of Leo Cottage were featured in Better Homes and Gardens magazine. In fact, the cottage has appeared in several magazines.

If I can book this charming Lake Michigan vacation rental this summer, I’m definitely spending time in this hammock swing! There was a free-standing hammock when we went on our Yurt vacation and I ended up tipping backwards in it. I don’t think that can happen with this one.

The lake cottage comes with two adult bikes and two kids bikes for exploring the area.

I love the cozy patio for outdoor dining. We usually have coffee outside (weather permitting) when we go on Airbnb vacations so I always look for a patio or deck when renting.
