You’ll find Scandinavian influences throughout the Christmas cabin, like the paper star in the dining room window above. Dark blue cabinets complement the lighter wood of the dining table that’s set for a holiday meal.

The Christmas tree is sparsely decorated and is tucked between the dining/kitchen area and living room.

I love the different types of Christmas greens that decorate the pendant lights. The table setting is simple yet festive – the perfect touch.

Dark green pillows and a velvet throw echo the color of the evergreens. The tree is the same one seen in the kitchen/dining room.

Log walls and rough hewn planks line the walls and ceiling of the Christmas cabin, providing a the feeling of warmth during winter months. Instead of wood flooring or carpeting, the floors are dressed in tile. I wonder if it’s a heated floor. Live evergreen boughs are wound around the light fixture.

The other side of the living room reveals a stone wall with a free standing fireplace. The rattan rocker is a cute touch. I’ve never seen a chair like that. Another green velvet pillow pairs with a large wreath to provide a holiday spirit.

A faux buck head adorns a papered wall just outside the bathroom and steps leading to the second floor.

More log walls hug the bathroom with dark green tile below. A stone sink creates a unique look for a shelved vanity. Even the door shows beautiful craftsmanship.

A handmade calendar helps the family count down to Christmas while paper Scandinavian ornaments join a bit of greenery for a festive addition. This would be easy to create with a matted frame. The days of the week are stamped onto kraft paper tags and secured to green ribbons with miniature clothes pins. Add small holiday items to some of the numbered tags and you’ve got a holiday calendar.

  1. Really. Well. Done. Love it!
Can’t say much for the electrical system though. 🙁 Makes me grateful for the sophistication of ours.

    1. Hi Deb! I don’t know much about their electrical system but was wondering about the things on the wall – I’m guessing that’s what you’re referring to? Such a charming cabin!

  2. It is warm and inviting for the Christmas holidays.
I was in St Petersburg, Russia with my father over 15 yrs ago.
We were there for just a short part of the day and had a tour of the city. So much history.

  3. Love the different materials used that make the cabin have that good feel without having just log walls. There is even wall paper? What’s really striking is that rock wall behind the wood stove. I enjoyed this Jennifer! Everyone here seems to do a lot of those commercial outdoor house lights with the round bulbs…well thats pretty but for me it’s the warmer shades of white lights on inside the house, on the porch and all the woodsy greenery set back like a Hobbit House…!! This house gives that feel.

  4. Simple, but pretty and restful and the cabin construction is wonderful. I like that bathroom sink and it actually looks as if it is low enough that if I were to use it, the water wouldn’t run down my forearms and drip off my elbows or run under my sleeves!

  5. Hi, Jennifer, and thanks for sharing all these gorgeous homes and Xmas decor ideas. So much wood, dark, what happened to all the all white kitchens and homes, lol. I have discovered “Dimples and Tangles” blog, her home several years ago, with all the hot pinks and incredible greens, and am headed that way. I’ve had so much lovely warm grays and beiges in my home, but now going to bring in some hot pinks, bright greens in high lights through out.

  6. Wow, this Christmas cabin looks absolutely stunning! The cozy and inviting atmosphere is perfect for the holiday season. The Scandinavian influences add a beautiful touch and the blue cabinets are a great contrast to the light wood dining table. It’s the perfect setting for a festive holiday meal. Thank you for sharing this beautiful home with us.
