Christmas Table Setting: Modern Country Style
Deer plates and a quaint ceramic village with bottle brush trees create a modern country Christmas table setting for the holidays!
Welcome to the holiday edition of Styled + Set where a group of bloggers share a variety of entertaining ideas. Links to the other bloggers are at the end of the post. (This post contains affiliate links.)
Jamie at So Much Better with Age is the blogger before me in today’s loop. She has phenomenal French Country flair throughout her home.
Every year I think about what Christmas theme I’m going to choose for my home. This year I chose neutral holiday decor to match the recent changes to some of my rooms. For my Christmas table setting I pulled out my deer plates which I used a couple of years ago. The gray and brown tones of the plates go so well with a neutral Christmas palette.
The last time I used my deer plates in a holiday setting, I paired them with white dishes. I wanted a richer look this time around and found the perfect shade of dark gray plates at Crate and Barrel. Everything rests on light-stained wooden plate chargers.
My bronze and neutral Christmas tree twinkles in the background.
The Antiques sign in the dining room gets a soft green bough while my ceramic Christmas village takes center stage on the table. A new holiday sign graces the wall just above the Christmas table setting.
Faux fur pillows lend themselves perfectly to a neutral Christmas theme. A pair of furry ombre pillows from Pottery Barn soften the dining table bench seat.
Waterford goblets and tumblers add a little bit of glam. This is Waterford’s Marquis line which is less expensive than their true leaded crystal pieces. My mother had the real stuff, which is now in the home of my eldest daughter.
My new dining room rug pulls the entire Christmas table setting and room together. You can see the rest of my holiday home tour this Friday. I’m anxious to share it with you!

Gorgeous!!! I love your table setting and the plates are wonderful 🙂
Jennifer – This is both rustic and beautiful!! Lovely, cozy, elegant!! I love the deer plates and the whole feeling of this table!
It looks so cozy, somewhere that you’d want to spend time lingering for awhile
Looks like a lovely wonderland scene, with pretty homes and trees and deer, those are the items needed. I will be anxious to see your tour, you have changed so much.
I love your table setting and how it is reflective of your home and your style. The deer plates were a gift from me to my son and daughter in law last year and they were perfect for their mountain lodge style home. I’m particularly loving your neutral color Christmas village. Where did you find them? Most I see are too colorful for my taste.
This is so pretty, Jennifer! I love the village houses and the rustic signs!
Beautiful as always Jennifer. Love the plates and the pretty houses.
Enjoy your day
Wow, I think you’ve outdone yourself this year! I love your color palette and how well everything comes together. Those ceramic village pieces are so cute and unique. You are very talented!
