Classic Red Brick Home with Traditional, Light-Hearted Style

Join me in the beautiful southern city of Atlanta for a tour of a classic red brick home remodel by R&R Enterprises, Inc. This pretty house combines traditional style with light-hearted influences that create refreshing spaces throughout.

White pillars greet you at the front door of the rambling classic brick home with roof dormers. The landscape includes traditional southern nuances such as a pair of hospitality pineapples gracing a garden gate.

Open the black front door to a traditional entryway with staircase. Note the beautiful details of the trim work around the door. A red Turkish rug hints at the whimsical color you’ll find throughout the remodeled home.

You’ll find touches of red in the living room, giving it a refreshing feel and a bit more energy than neutral-toned rooms. Have you noticed how some rooms in current interior design feature layered rugs like this one?

A white wing chair enjoys a traditional kilim pillow by the fireplace. Did you notice the herringbone pattern of the brick in the fireplace? It’s details like this that make a house a home.

A view from the other side of the living room gives a better idea on the layout of this classic red brick home. The entryway and staircase can be seen in the background, with the dining room to the left.

Just beyond the dining area is the white kitchen. You can see a built-in cupboard to the right of the dining room table. I love the texture of the horizontal-paneled walls and detailed trim work. It keeps the expanse of white from feeling too cold.

The family room enjoys a unique style of board and batten siding with the addition of paneling in each section. Colorful tasseled pillows and a faux fur rug make the room feel playful.

Clear chairs and a unique table in the dining nook are an unexpected, fun and modern touch. Chair pads with bows help to soften the look.

A blue and white color palette lends itself to the master bathroom with a gorgeous claw foot tub peeking through the bathroom door. A large painting above the tub adds a fun shot of color.

A second bedroom enjoys a bit of bright yellow and colorful pillows. I love the tassels on the bedspread, too. I wonder how long it took the photographer to make sure they were all lined up properly to poke out through the spindles of the foot board. LOL.

  1. What a cheery pretty home. The paneled walls are a highlight and the added colors are so friendly. The south is one area we have not visited. For no good reason I feel blocked…lol maybe an unhappy past life.

  2. I love the lightness of this home after the red brick exterior. I have been to a lot of the south and love the older homes.
