When it comes to design trends for 2022, interior decorators are finding that their clients are looking to add color in the kitchen. The days of an all-white kitchen are waning, but luckily it’s easy to add a new hue to white interiors. A change of cabinet color might be all it takes. Or in the case of today’s coastal kitchen by DuChateau Floors, it’s a large island in blue that takes center stage, along with a splash of ocean color in the tile above the stove.
A fun “Beach” typography sign frames a corner window nook while playful whale figurines adorn the sills.
Iridescent blue tile mimics the shine of the sea above the kitchen range while glass front cabinets are equipped with lights to display coral and other beach treasures.
Wood floors the color of sand are reminiscent of seaside beaches. A painted wood ceiling lends a bit of texture.
Galvanized metal stools provide ample seating around the large kitchen island. It’s a great place to gather before enjoying a day at the beach.
Beach vignettes are scattered throughout the coastal kitchen. A large shell on the kitchen island, outdoor lanterns, a basket of seashells, and a glass jar of white starfish. Even the family dog finds this beach style kitchen relaxing and inviting!

What a fun play with a white kitchen. I think this goes to show just how easy white kitchens can be with a tiny bit of color added you’ve changed the whole feel of the room. Love the dog btw…too cute and that wood floor color is perfect.
