Colorful Cottage Kitchen: Take the Tour

Who loves color in the kitchen? I know I do. One of the reasons I enjoy a neutral kitchen is so I can add different pops of color in the form of crocks, glass bottles, or casual artwork throughout the year. It’s easy to change up and adds interest. Today I’m sharing a colorful cottage kitchen by Alison Kandler, one of my favorite designers who embraces color. Custom cabinetry provides a classic backdrop for this cottage kitchen with playful color.

I’m lovin’ this double range with its red knobs and stainless steel finish. We purchased a white single range for our kitchen and it was delivered the next day from Lowe’s. I’ll share more about it once our refrigerator arrives.

Next to the pantry, this colorful kitchen sports additional storage behind a chalkboard door and magnetized orange door. Even the little retro apron hanging on a hook adds a bit of fun color.

An over-sized kitchen island provides plenty of work space during meal prep. Note the fun yellow knobs on the cabinetry of this colorful cottage kitchen.

A beautiful farmhouse sink is tucked underneath a cottage window with a simple, patterned Roman shade. Window treatments are a great way to add a bit of color and fun to any room.

The charming breakfast nook in this colorful cottage kitchen continues the softly patterned fabric seen above the farmhouse sink. The built-in banquette provides a spot to add fun pillows.

  1. I am in love with this kitchen – it is colorful and playful, and doesn’t take itself too seriously! The planked ceiling is beautiful, and something I have been wanting to add to my kitchen for quite some time. Lots of great decor ideas from this kitchen.

  2. Oh! The storage! Such a charming kitchen. We had to buy a new fridge a few years ago and it was agonizing ????so many choices! The last time I bought one, you just picked out what you wanted and there was no researching available, or reviews, to muddle your mind. I loved the sink pendant in the kitchen. And the matching one over the table. Of course, that yellow one was perfect.

  3. Absolutely everytthing! Fantastic. If I had to choose one thing id say the pendant. Lights over the island….any chance I can find out where you got them!?

  4. Shes the greatest. Love her work. Followed her for a long time. She is the one I would say ‘ just do you’ and leave her alone.

  5. It’s so very sweet! I like the little “extra” sink in the island. I can imagine that could come in handy at times.

  6. Finally, bursts of color. Absolutely beautiful. A visible “Big Chill” banana color fridge should be added to the mix.
