Connecticut Home in Neutral Tones

Did everyone survive Black Friday? I try to avoid the stores as much as possible the day after Thanksgiving, but I did need to get a few things. Then yesterday my daughter and I ran a half marathon (13.1 miles), so needless to say I’m a bit exhausted. Time to grab a cup of coffee and enjoy another house tour – today we’re taking a peek inside a pretty Connecticut home in neutral tones.

Faith Towers of Design Fixation at Houzz featured the home of blogger Lauren McBride, all dressed up for the holidays. Stockings are hung by the chimney with its beautiful mantel and brick inset.

The living room wears calming neutral tones.

A pair of Christmas trees adorn an antique cabinet while a soft furry pillow lends a bit of texture.

A gorgeous Christmas tree takes center stage in front of the window. I love when you can see Christmas trees lit up from outside the home.

A pretty wooden chandelier gives light above a farmhouse table. We finally got our new chandelier hung above the dining table and I can’t wait to share it on my blog next week!

Are you a fan of French doors?  I love them and they sure look pretty here, leading into the living room.

The kitchen is light and bright with white-painted cabinets.

The bathroom makes great use of an old dresser as vanity, and a gorgeous dresser mirror left in its natural wood state. I love wood and white together – I think it’s my favorite pairing when it comes to decorating.

A bench made from an old door graces the entryway while a fluffy garland winds its way up the banister.

Creative typography art hangs on the shiplap wall above the black iron bed. A pair of farmhouse sconces provide extra light for reading.

This is such a charming home, both inside and out. You know I love a yellow house!
