Country Home Furnishings by The Cotswold Company

One thing I feel like I’m not very good at is choosing furniture. I tend to work with what I have or what I find at a flea market or resale shop. I force things to work together (sometimes awkwardly so). But lately I’ve wanted to create a more cohesive look, even if it means I need to spend a little more for quality pieces. I recently stumbled across beautiful country home furnishings by The Cotswold Company and want to share them with you. It’s a collection of oak, pine, and painted furniture. Do you like painted furniture?  I love this low-slung bed painted in a beautiful shade of gray, with just a touch of stained wood to accentuate it.

Although I typically gravitate toward painted furniture, I do love the look of beautiful pine. I’ve always wanted a mirrored armoire for my bedroom, but all I have right now is an old barn door with a mirror attached.

Country home furnishings come in a variety of styles, like this dining room with Scandinavian influences.

A beautiful lime-washed oak armoire features a few feminine curves. What do you think of the wallpaper?

A white-washed brick wall is a pretty backdrop to mission-style country home furnishings. Green accents are a perfect complement. The more I look at furniture options, the more I think I need new furniture. But at the same time I don’t want to be too materialistic. It’s a balance of wanting a pretty home while still being responsible with finances.

When it comes to painted furniture, do you prefer neutrals or colors? Granted, neutrals go with anything, but colors can add fun and drama to a space. This is why I struggle with furniture selection. I can see so many country home furnishings that would look great … it’s hard to choose.

I think what I like most about this furniture line from The Cotswold Company are the clean, simple lines.

And finally, a handy storage unit for a mudroom in a beautiful French gray.

When you shop for furniture, what do you look for?  Do you like matching sets, or do you prefer an eclectic mix?

  1. Beautiful pieces but they don’t sell in the U.S. What a bummer. That Slim Jim chest is perfect for an empty wall I am trying to fill. The style very much reminds me of a few pieces I bought from L.L. Bean.

  2. This is really some neat furniture. That wallpaper and armoire were beautiful and i like a little of both some painted and some plain. Now what did you buy?
