Country Kitchens to Love
How old were you when you started looking at decorating magazines? I was in my early 20s and my favorite magazines were Country Living and Country Home. I’ve always loved country style decorating whether it has a farmhouse, cottage, or modern influence. The kitchen is my favorite room in the house and I never tire of thumbing through magazine pages looking at country kitchens. Here’s a collection of country kitchens I recently found that I hope you like, too! Note: These images are embedded from Houzz so you can’t pin them, but there’s a collage at the end of the post that you can pin to Pinterest!
Beautiful blue! I love it in the kitchen, bedroom, living room, you name it! Blue is the classic country color that never goes out of fashion. Here, painted blue cabinets are paired with a black counter top and dining chairs.

Here’s another view of the same kitchen. I love the ship lap on the walls and vaulted ceiling. Wood floors, an apron sink, and industrial lighting lend plenty of farmhouse charm to this country kitchen.

An adorable vintage style kitchen may not be big on the latest modern technologies, but it makes up for it with oodles of charm.

If you can’t tell by now, I tend to favor kitchens with white cabinets. This light and bright kitchen is a little more modern looking, but it has country touches like the subway tile and glass front cabinets.

More subway tile makes an appearance in this charming kitchen with its green cabinets and touches of bead board. Colorful bar stools are an easy way to introduce a bold color in the kitchen.

This is the perfect coastal kitchen with its white bead board, open shelves, colorful skirting, and blue and green accents. A beach house should be simple and care-free, just like the summer months it evokes.

Yellow is another classic color for country kitchens and this one wears it well along with Mediterranean influences. The island includes a convenient space for sitting and thumbing through your cookbooks.

Vintage appliances take center stage in this cottage style country kitchen. Rich wood floors underfoot add warmth and drama to the cooking space.
Victorian homes tend to have warmer colored kitchens and this one is beautiful and elegant. Curved toe-holds add interest where the cabinets meet the pretty wood floor. Simple cafe curtains let the beauty of the window’s trim work to show. The plate rack is a nice touch … I’ve always wanted one.

What do you think of this brightly painted kitchen? Is it too much blue or does it tickle your fancy? One great thing about painted cabinets is that you can always change the color if you make a mistake.

I think a slightly rustic kitchen like this one is what’s typically called to mind when you think of country kitchens. A little primitive style with utilitarian pieces thrown in for good measure!

What’s your favorite style of country kitchens?
I love perusing your inspirational photos, Jennifer, because I think I’m on the same page as you when it comes to taste in decor.
So many wonderful ideas in this post!!
Wow, love your selection! Sigh…
So many great kitchens. My favorite is the last one, but I really like the all white one too.
Love all the kitchen inspiration!
I am loving all of this great country kitchen inspiration especially the beautiful colors that were infused in each one!
I love your taste in kitchens, Jennifer. I love white cabinets too. That is why I painted mine white! Country Living magazine has always been my favorite too!
I love and have an off white kitchen w beadboard and pine. I am intrigued these days with cabinet feet so love the ball feet on the last Traditional pic and the curved toe holds on the Victorian kitchen add so much to that kitchen – go back and look at it and imagine it without these!. The beautiful floor plank layout draws the eye down and it would just not be the same without that foot detail at all! The ball feet are likely easier to add onto existing cabinets just need to figure out where I would put them on my 12′ cabinet run – thinking the ends and the sink. Your pics just about all show feet and are great for getting my wheels turning on my current farmhouse kitchen “foot fetish” 🙂 Do you have feet on your cabinets? Thanks for the eye candy Jennifer I know what I will be day dreaming about all day!
In the “thinking” process for a kitchen do-over, and these pictures sure provided some inspiration. I’m considering painting my cabinets, and now I have even more options! Really beautiful pictures!
My favorite was the Country Kitchen by Los Angeles Design, although the sink wasnt my favorite farm sink. They were all beautiful in their own way.
These pictures are all beautiful ! Love the one with the bluish / green fridge ! But I do have to say we just purchased our first home and your kitchen was my inspiration in planning out my own!
When I try to Pin the pictures it comes up saying that the site doesn’t allow pinning, but yet you have Pin buttons. I don’t understand it.
I’m with you on the plate rack…aesthetically appealing and practical.
I use to go home to my mom and look at her magazines, BH&G, HB, and Country living. I was in my twenties and loved looking at them and getting ideas. I love kitchens that are white and homey. My upper cabinets are wood with glass doors and bottoms are white. I really like your kitchen, it is a great place to gather with your friends and family.
Thank you Jennifer -you are doing us a great favour whilst enjoying yourself too ?

What beautiful choices! I love the first one with the light aqua cabinets.
