Yesterday it rained, today it’s snowing. We’ve reached that crazy time of year here in Chicagoland when the weather can’t make up its mind. It’ll be even worse during the month of March. After a while, nothing surprises you anymore. But enough of the weather. Let’s talk Friday Finds! Today I found cozy kitchen inspiration and green painted furniture. Let’s start this week’s treasures with tips on how to create a cozy kitchen. I like the simplicity of these ideas to add a little more character to your kitchen.

To help create a warm and welcoming kitchen, check out these kitchen icons that are easy to incorporate into your cooking and dining space.. I really think I need that table runner in my life. I love it!

It’s always nice to have an easy place to hang a kitchen towel, hot pad, or apron. Try your hand at creating this DIY towel rack that carries a lot of charm.

Perfect for your kitchen is this living herb wreath that you can make. Not only does it add fresh spices for your recipe, but it’s green which is a trending color this year. I love green and am all about adding this color throughout the home. I do it with the use of houseplants.

While we’re on the topic of green, here’s a collection of green painted vintage furniture you’ll enjoy. You might have a few furniture pieces in your home that could use a refreshing update with the color green.

We’ll end on a sweet note today. For the ultimate in comfort desserts, try my chocolate chip skillet cookie. Serve it warm with a scoop of ice cream. You’ll think you died and went to heaven!

Have a great weekend and stay warm. Spring will be here soon!

  1. Ok, you’ve done it again! About 20 years ago, we inherited a tall dresser painted the shade of green shown on most of the vintage furniture in the green furniture link. Ever since the day we got it I have wanted to either refinish it or paint it. My very savvy decorator Sister-in-Love has kept me convinced to leave it as is. BUT just last week I decided it needed to be painted a soft white. Then you come along and show us all those beautiful pieces of green vintage furniture and I’m back to realizing how charming it is!
Thanks. Seriously. Leaving it green honors it and the precious giver who left it in our hands.

    1. Hi Deb! I don’t know what it is about green-painted furniture but I’ve always loved it. I’m happy that the color green is trending again in home decor.
