Create a Cottage Style Breakfast Nook

Cottage style is a simple, casual decor that’s easy to create in your home. During the summer, I find it especially easy to infuse cottage style with light colors and summer flowers. Hubby and I recently went on a wildflower picking excursion so I took the opportunity to dress up my cottage style breakfast nook with summer colors.

Cottage style flowers in a French crateTo create the cottage style centerpiece, I filled 3 mason jars with wildflowers and placed them in this French style crate that I made last summer from a Goodwill find.

I added them to other rooms in the house and will share those photos soon. For me, flowers are the easiest way to infuse summer fresh cottage style throughout the home.

  3. So pretty! I love wildflower gathering too and we have both of those flowers you used around here — but MY bouquets never looked as pretty as yours! Love the tablecloth too – and the chairs! Glad you didn’t paint them.

  4. Oh so pretty Jennifer! Love those bowls! Those chairs are perfect too! I have a set of four of those from a yard sale last year and were …..free.Just need to glue the seat slats a bit.
