Dining Room Updates

One of my 2012 goals is to finish making over the dining room. It’s a small cozy room whose walls used to be sage, which I loved, but after ogling over many a Swedish dining room, I decided to lighten it up with a coat of Steamed White from Lowe’s.

The side chairs now wear Duck Egg Blue from Annie Sloan.
You can read about my chair painting project here.
Hubby found this old barn board in a nearby field. He thought I’d make a sign out of it.
I fancied using it on top of the table instead, which wears Old White from ASCP.
The inside of the china cabinet also got a dusting of Duck Egg Blue. It used to wear a very light blue,
but the darker Duck Egg makes the china pop better. Before it just sort of blended altogether.

In the cupboard is Meito China, handpainted in Japan.

My mother’s Waterford Crystal resides in here, also.

My newest aquisition is this floor mat that I bought at Denise’s Adornments in Geneva, IL.

It has purposeful imperfections, which is great for our house.
I have to be careful what goes on the floors due to our cherished yet naughty little kitties.

So far the kitties haven’t abused this lovely treasure of mine.
I bought two of these 6′ x 10′ floor mats. The other is in the living room.

Say hello to my little lamb, another recent find at Country Naturals, also in Geneva.
Can you tell Geneva is my favorite place to shop?

I’ve got a few more things to do in this room, and then it’s on to the kitchen!
