Easy Lavender Projects to Lift Your Spirits

Lavender is one of my favorite scents and it offers so many wonderful benefits. This time of year when I struggle with cabin fever, I enjoy its calming fragrance that reminds me of the garden. I rounded up some of favorite lavender projects that you might want to try – just click on the links to go to the tutorials. They’re all relatively easy.

Lavender sachets don’t take long to make and they smell so good. A few days ago I came across one I had packed in a container with bedding and even though I made the sachet many years ago, it was still very fragrant.

The sachets above I sewed and stamped myself, but you can also use small drawstring bags from the craft store.

Lavender linen spray is a great item to make a tedious task like ironing a bit more enjoyable. Instead of using the steam option on your iron, spray your clothes or whatever you’re ironing with the scented spray.

Since lavender is thought to help induce sleep, try spraying your pillowcases just before tucking yourself into bed.

Lavender dryer sachets are another great way to add the calming scent to clothes, towels, and sheets. I embroidered mine to make them pretty and am happy to report they hold up really well in the dryer.

Make lavender potpourri by combining lavender buds with lavender essential oil. For a stronger fragrance, simply add more oil to the buds.

Lavender candles are a little more time consuming of the lavender projects to make, but they are well worth the effort. I like to add lavender buds to my candles, but if you’re afraid of them catching fire, simply eliminate the buds.

My favorite lavender project is growing a variety of lavender types in the garden. Cut several stems and dry them to enjoy inside your house.

Growing Lavender in a Basket

A few flower stems look pretty in a simple vase and if you place it near your bed, you can enjoy the fragrance as you doze off to sleep.

Hopefully you’re inspired to try one of these lavender projects. The potpourri is the easiest to make.
