Exposed Brick Walls

After spending a little time on Houzz the other day, I had a whim to dedicate one day a week to stuff I love other there … and so begins Humpdays with Houzz! Each week I’m going to focus on some type of design element and share it with you. Houzz lets you easily embed their photos onto your own site. If you click on the photo – you’ll be taken to the original for more information. My goal is to provide creative design and decorating inspiration, and today I’m starting with something I love … exposed brick walls!

The brick in this kitchen has a slightly white-washed look to it and I love the little built-in cubby. The cabinets have cool details and I think the color is a perfect match with the exposed brick walls.

There’s a whole lotta texture goin’ on in this kitchen that just sweeps me off my feet! The bead board ceiling with the dark beams, the exposed brick walls, the warm wood on the kitchen island, the soft curtains in the windows, the little basket drawers, the copper on the range hood … there’s just so much to love!

Oh, I am lovin’ the color of the brick in this living room! The dark floors provide a nice contrast and add drama to the space. And of course, I’m totally crushing on that piece of chippy black furniture!

In this kitchen and dining space, there’s just a bit of exposed brick wall, which echoes the brick on the floor. Lots of architectural details in this room and I love the warm farm table and the glass cabinet doors.

My mother would probably think this bedroom space is messy but I just adore it. The bricks are worn and crooked, adding to the charm of this quirky space. The little iron bed just captures my heart! I envision a creative soul living here.

This bedroom proves you can combine elegance with rustic brick. Such a pretty room to dream in!

Here’s pretty white brick paired with lots of warm wood. LOVE the rustic floor!

We’ll end with this very cool loft with its exposed brick walls. If I didn’t live in a farmhouse, I would want to live in an urban loft … provided it had outdoor living space, as well. I have to have my daily commune with nature!

I hope you enjoyed my first Humpday with Houzz!

Don’t forget that I’m also starting my new Charming Home Series this Sunday. I want soooo badly to tell you whose charming home is being featured first … but I’m gonna keep it a secret! You’ll just have to check back to see who it is! I can’t wait!

  1. I’ve always loved exposed brick. I always wished we would have put our fireplace between 2 rooms so you could see the back inside the house. The back of our fireplace is on our back porch which is pretty but…. inside would be nice.
It’s fun to look at beautiful homes. All of these would work for me 😉 This will be a fun weekly post Jennifer!
