Some people think decorating with neutral tones is safe and reliable, and today’s selection of inspiration rooms prove that neutrals are anything but boring. Neutral decorating palettes are making a comeback. Browns, creams, and plenty of texture create warm, inviting rooms that say, “Come and relax. You’re home!” A stone fireplace takes center stage in…
The past couple weeks I’ve spent more time in the garden and less time in the house. We had a bazillion weeds that were out of control and I knew if I didn’t get them pulled quickly, they’d take over the entire yard. We also managed to get our vegetable garden planted. I did have…
I’m excited about sharing this vintage farmhouse by DeGraw & DeHaan Architects because it exemplifies all that I love about older homes! And it starts with the six-over-six windows, clapboard siding, and a wealth of charming vintage details inside. Photo by DeGraw & DeHaan Architects “They don’t build them like this anymore,” is a phrase…
Have you ever stepped inside a Russian house – virtually or in reality? This one by designer and decorator Zhenya Zhdanova is quite cheerful and charming! If you’re looking for ways to incorporate color into your interior spaces, this is the house for you! You’ll notice an abundance of painted bead board and paneled walls…
My house is transitioning from fall decor to Christmas. My holiday home tour is the last week of November which is why I need to start decorating now. I was playing around with the mantel after removing my brown bottles, and started to set up my candle holders. I’ve started collecting wooden candle holders and…
I don’t know if it’s because I was born and raised in a Swedish town, but I love Scandinavian homes and decor. To my knowledge, I don’t have any Swedish blood in my body. I’m mostly Hungarian, English, and Scottish. I know – a weird combination. But anyway, I thought it would be fun to…

Love it all.
I love the simplicity of it all Jennifer. No fuss and clutter, just beautiful useful pieces and a lovely touch with the white glasses like your grans. Don’t you love it when you find thrifty finds that remind you of a time in your own childhood.
Very fresh looking, Jennifer! Love the simplicity of your table setting. The book page runner is very creative. We are going to our daughter’s for Christmas day also. I still have no idea what we are having Christmas Eve, but it will just be myself, hubby and our son so I’ll keep it easy and simple.
Jennifer, I LOVE your touches of Christmas in your dining room. I need to work on mine today. I just may borrow a few of your ideas. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, Gail

Love the green and white. I have lots of red this year so this gave me the idea to do some white with all of it on the table. I have lots of white so no excuse to do the same old boring thing I always do.

SO pretty! Love the book page runner idea. I’m impressed, you’re ready for Saturday already!
Simple and festive, Jennifer. I love it!
So soft and pretty. I love the simple decor and what a great idea to decorate each plate with a couple of bulbs. The green looks perfect against the neutrals.
It’s all so very pretty…love all of vintage ornaments that you have used.

Linda
